Want to see how Galen Rupp is going to do. I don't see him beating Lagat but he should have a good showing.

I wish I knew more about our chances in the field events.
I've always enjoyed the trials. In some of the events America is so deep that making the U.S. squad is arguably tougher than the Olympics.Edited by: Poacher

I feel bad for Dallas Robinson. The whole purpose of his return to track was to live his dream of at least participating at the US Olympic Trials. Oh well. I hope he hasn't given up already due to getting hurt. Sprinting is very hard on the body and I'm sure he doesn't have the sports masagist, dietician, etc.
I'm excited to watch Jordan Boase in the 200. Wariner is going to put on a show in the 400.

Nic Symmonds, Andrew Wheating, and Christian Smith are into the 800 meter final.
As is Lopez Lomong, another "American".

Tyson Gay running a 9.76 after stumbling a little and also shutting it down at 90 meters. Yeah those are some really good one a day vitamins. It is not possible even with a wind to run that fast and not go all out. I'm sorry but he along with alot of us sprinters have a secret weapon if you know what i'm talking about. Or else he should change his name to Clark Kent.

There are a few holdouts that think Gay is clean. I'm not among them. He gained a lot of size post college and shutting down running a 9.77 is crazzzzzzzzy. In college with the Razorbacks he was more of 200 meter guy because of his lack of size. Maybe he panicked (like Ben in 88) and got a new supply of the Clear part 2 after he lost to Bolt....

that is a ridiculous time by gay. i dont know how anyone can doubt his drug usage. there is no way anyone can reach a world class time by not running a perfect sprint. for those that keep up with the track world more than i, are there any athletes in the 100 that we should be looking out for? also, does anyone know if there is tv coverage of any of the trials?

There is no one we are rooting for here for the men in the short sprints. Dallas Robinson got hurt and John Woods moved to Australia. As for the 200, it is pretty sad with only the college kid Jordan Boase competeting.

Are you watching this live? I don't see it on tv anywhere. I imagine your probably just following it at the website. Trey Hardee is one hell of an athlete. He is built like a mack truck and he has so much athleticism.
The United States has around 330 million people. There is probably almost 100 million white men but they just don't go into the sprints. If they did, we would see alot of white guys from this country who would blow away even the times of guys like LeBlanc and Pickering. You need numbers. Our kids are steered into different sports. I would love to see white kids fall in love with track. Most prefer team sports.

Darvis Patton was a nobody in Texas during high school, then he goes to some juco and becomes a juco all american. His career has always been very suspicious to me.
After day one of the Decathlon Clay is in first with 4476 and Hardee is second with 4454.
