10.51. Very weird. But the good news is that Merritt is looking just awful in the 400, getting worse with every meet.

I don't know much about it other than that his bio confirms it. I assumme that it's legal becasue of that, but I have heard that it was at altitude. I wonder if he was hurt today?

Was rooting for him and I must say I'm shocked but the time. Makes
the Super 8 Time look great in comparison. JayConn will bounce back.
He is too good of an sprinter to go out like that.

I don't think we should be shocked by the time.
Jared's PB is about .5 slower than Bolt's PB....and he finished about .5 behind Bolt. So that's about right. Everyone in the race ran much slower than their best times.
I think it is unfair to expect our guys, or any guys, to PB every time they run. Their PB is the best time they have ever run in all the races they have run, in all the years they have been competng. Unless they are up and coming (like Lemaitre), beating their PB is a once in awhile occurnce. Sometimes it's a never again occurence.
I just think we need to adjust our expectations for the sprinters we are rooting for.

Excellent point jacknyc. I agree with you that fans can dream about things happening alot quicker than usual. It takes so much hard work just to stay in the same time range, let alone to keep breaking your personal bests.

JayConn is running in a big meet in Canada this weekend in the 100! Let's hope he bounces back after the worst 100 he has had since high school. Good luck Jared!

I don't know why but Canada has left Jared off the team. He is not in the individual 100 or in the 4 x 100 Relay Team. What is up with that? Unless he is on the individual 200 meters. I didn't get to see if he was. I sure hope so.

He is taking it easy over the summer. He ran his junior year last season at Syracuse and never quite found his old form. Michael is trying to get his body back right after major injuries. I hope he can regain his form in 2010.
