I don´t think Watrin is trained for championships yet. it´s like he dont have either the physical or the mental stamina.

I think the japanese,Iizuka, will win the gold in the 200 m. I looked very relaxed in the photo finish picture.

Damn this isn't working. It's either blocking me or showing the events from yesterday. Oh this is so frustrating.

we've not mentioned South Africa's 100-meter sprinter, Waide Jooste. for the second-consecutive Junior World Championships, the fastest sprintercompeting forthe 90%-plus black African nation is a young White man. i thought that was impossible.
smiley2.gif

and when you consider that there was an even faster young White South African man (Wilhelm van der Vyver) who was not competing, it kind of makes you go hmmm ... doesn't it?

shot putter Jacko Gill must be extremely mature, but he doesnt look extrem. Rather he look like having good technique.

I just read a story on the young New Zealander shot put sensation, Jacko Gill.

At 15 years and 7 months he is the world's best ever 15 year old putter. He is only about 180-185 lbs (83kgs)and can bench press (choke, stutter) 150 kgs (330lbs)
smiley11.gif

He is the youngest ever world junior champ beating Usain Bolt's record and he aims to be the 2nd person in history to win a junior championship gold before he gets a youth championship gold.

His dad was NZ champion and built a concrete ring in his back garden for 10 year old Jacko in their back garden, 15 metres away from the fence. Within a year or two he was up for rebuilding the fence LOL

mastermulti,

Jacko Gill is a true prodigy. it's amazing what he is doing. he's putting up numbers that are on the verge of world class for senior athletes. ANDhe's still 5 months shy of his 16th birthday. wow!

Marcell took the silver in the 400 meters final. Very nice result for this kid from Hungary.

Good work by Nagy. Not bad by Kaiser either, finishing fourth ahead of Nance. I feel like the US would have been better represented by Gehret and Farmer, either of whom would have done better than Nolan and Mance.

Kaiser showed a lot of guts, both by how hard he ran in the semis and now how close he was to finishing in the top 3 of the finals.

if i'm not mistaken Nagy was the youngest finalist in the 400. i think he's young enough to participate in the next Junior Worlds ... regardless, he has a terrific future. as does Kaiser.

also, i want to add to what i said earlier about South Africa's sprinters. the fastest two 100-meter guys in RSA are White, as are their top two 400-meter runners. if blacks are so inherently superior, then how can the small population of Boors in RSA produce the elite sprinters of a 90-plus% black nation? i'm still curious why Wilhelm van der Vyver didn't participate ... gentlemen, we shouldn't neglect our young White women. theyembody our future.

White ladies swept the 100-meter hurdles: Isabelle Pederson (Norway) took the gold, with Germany's Jenna Pletsch and Miriam Hehl taking silver and bronze, respectively.
smiley32.gif

in the women's 400-meters, Bianca Razo (Romania) was the only White lady in the final. but she took home the bronze.
smiley20.gif

in the women's 800, Elena Mirela Lavric (also of Romania) took home the gold.

Excellent points. Not only are talented but very easy on the eyes. Especially the German Hurdlers. All I can say is WOW. I've always loved watching the Kallur Twins dominate the hurdles over the years.

Jacko story

It's that torsional twist apart from a great technique all round. And I still can't believe how a 15 year old weighing 180 can bench press 330lbs.

Check out some of the accents.... I can hardly understand some Kiwis myself even though I live only a little jump across the ocean to them

I checked some stats and noticed an absence in the womens long jump. Darya Klishina from Russia(born 1991) who jumped 7,03 metres this year! Converted to mens long jumping that´s about 8,40-8,50.

About van der Wyver.
1. He is to old to compete in junior championship. Actually he is born in 1989 and older than Lemaitre. If you turn 20 the year of the championship you are not allowed to participate (imagine what Lemaitre would have done with Dexter if i was WJ champs last year instead of EJ champs).
So now you have to be born 1991 or later. Next WJ champs you have to be born 1993 or later (Nagy is born 1992 by the way).

2. I´m not sure but I do have a feeling Van der Wyver has retired from track.

Looks like my DVR is recording the Canadian broadcast, so I'm watching it every night. Thursday was a good day overall. I truly enjoyed the women's 100m hurdles. The blonde Norwegian Pederson's gold was complimented by the 2/3 finish of the Germans, and it was great to see them hug each other at the end once the results became official.

I believe it was a sweep in the pole vault, and a young man from Spain won silver in the long jump. Nicely done by the Hungarian Nagy who took silver in the 400m.

Hopefully, their success will continue as they move to the next level.Edited by: foobar75

Swede, thanks for sharing this. i didn't realize he was born in '89. for some reason, i was thinking he wouldn't turn 20 until this fall. i appreciate the correction.

i certainly hope he hasn't retired from track, though, because he ran a 10.30 in 2008 (as a junior) and took home silver in the Junior Worlds with a 10.42. he has a lot of talent, and i'd hate to see him give that up.

well, the terrible performance of the IAAF website continues ... no updates have been posted for this evening's performances.

so, we can neither actually watch the performances nor know how they turned out. great job, guys!

Not bad at all. Shota Iizuka of Japan wins the gold, Aliaksandr Linnik takes the silver. It's a shame that Van Niekerk barely lost out on te bronze by 2/100th of a second. If you look at it like this, 3 out of the top 4 were not black yet people think whites and asians can't compete in the sprints! Every time I watch a World Youth Games, I see the same thing. Whites are winning medals. It's not until the massive performance enhancing drugs start that the whites start to fade. So get rid of the cheats and you will see whites winning medals of Olympics and World Championships alot more of the time!
