Jimmy Smith may be cut by Jax for salary cap reasons. If so, that would really speed along Jones' development. I see no reason why Jones can't have a 1,000 yard season and double digit touchdowns in '06 as long as a moderately capable quarterback is throwing to him. But as long as Smith as there, he will be the number one receiver because of the "respect" he has earned. That's just the way it works in the NFL.

The way the jags use Matt is not conducive to his skills. The use him like a small possesion reciver not a tall deep threat. They need to use him like the Vikings used Moss.

Some news about Bergeron in Falcons Camp:

WR Troy Bergeron made one of the more impressive grabs of the day. During one-on-ones, Bergeron lined up against CB Omare Lowe just near the goal line, outside the numbers on the left side of the field. On the snap of the ball, Bergeron jab stepped to his right, then reversed his field and ran a fade to the back left corner of the end zone, leaping to catch the ball despite the best efforts of Lowe to deflect Schaub's perfectly-thrown ball.

Nice snag: In the early goings of the first 11-on-11 period of Tuesday morning's practice, WR Troy Bergeron ran a five yard out and QB D.J. Shockley threw the ball his way, but the pass was behind Bergeron. No matter. Bergeron stuck his left hand out, plucked the pass out the air and made a nice snag -- one of his better grabs of all camp.

Notice that Schaub's ball was 'perfectly-thrown,' while Shockley's was behind Bergeron. No doubt in a real game, if Bergeron misses a behind-the-back pass, it will be his fault and not his quarterbacks, particularly if that quarterback is named Mike Vick.

I saw Bergeron make two highlight catches in the AFL game vs. Philadelphia. One was for a TD where he laid himself out and hit his head on the wall and still made the catch. I also saw a play where he juked a defender out of his pants! Yet, this guy continues to be snubbed by the NFL, even though I'm sure he would be a star if given the chance.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

I've seen this guy play a couple of times in Arena football and he looks like a quality receiver with great speed agility and hands. He must still be young enough to make an NFL roster.
