Here is a list of white H.S players listed in the top 30
for their position by Rivals for this college recruiting year. I think basketball is still changing for the better.

Alright, you might think this is not much of an improvement, but you have to remember these are just American players. This does not count all the Europeans. Also PG has been a position that whites have done great at historically and I would bet that many more college players that aren't listed on the H.S top 30 will work there way up the list in college and be better NBA prospects. Also we have a white at number 3 behind Derrick Rose and OJ Mayo who are projected top 5 picks in next years NBA draft. Also notice the two historically anti-white colleges Florida and Georgia that are signing these top players.

This one was somewhat depressing as the top white guy was at number 15 although there looked to be a couple half white or more guys in the top 15. SG continues to be a position that whites are still stigmatized at. Maybe Chase Budinger will change this!

There is one piece of bad news to note here, the top 6 white prospects at SF are pairing up to go to only three colleges; Duke, Florida, and Purdue. This means they may not end up starting together unless they switch positions or play 3 forwards etc.

I was somewhat disappointed in the number of prospects at PG and PF and definitely so at SG. However, it seems the number of white American players is on the rise. So even with white friendly teams like Duke, Gonzaga, Notre Dame, Washington State and BYU making early exits this year in the tournament we will have a lot to look forward to for next year. And we still have Vanderbilt this year!

We still have Butler and "Steve Nash " clone AJ Graves. That's who the announcers have been openly comparing him too. Thanks for the list Riggins. Duke gets whiter and whiter and now Florida is starting too look like it did a few years ago with Lee, Miller and Walsh.

Thanks for doing that research. While the situation does look better than it did a decade ago, this doesn't seem to be translating into more pro stars. When the top two college basketball players are white, as they were last season, and neither of them can get an honest chance in the pros, then what realistic chance do any of these white kids have of making it in the NBA? How likely is it that we will ever see two white players fighting it out for the leading scorer in the nation honors, as Reddick and Morrison did last season?

I think Morrison is getting a fair chance. He actually hasn't been performing very well and is now the sixth man behind another white guy at SG in Matt Carrol. Morrison is still getting a lot of minutes. Morrison takes too many shots to get his points and is not doing very well defensivly or rebounding wise yet. Redick on the other hand is getting royally screwed.

I think part of the problem with the NBA is that there are too many black players that chuck up bad shots. There are lots of white guys with great athletic talent like Brent Barry and Matt Harping that shoot around 50% for their careers, but never became go to scorers. Another problem is that big black players get away with offensive fouls in the NBA and dominate the league. Big white guys get whistled when they bump their way to the hoop. The NBA needs to do something about the rules. The NBA game has no finese anymore. And I admit to forgetting about Butler...Go Butler!Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

I think it's very likely. Nothing against Redick and Morrison, but they were the best in a league ofwatered down talent. Last year Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire,Chris Bosh, and Andre Iguodalawould have all been seniors had they not left early.Lebron James, Chris Paul,Luol Deng, and Charlie Villanueva would have beenjuniors, and Dwight Howard,JR Smith, andMarvin Williams would have been sophomores. As long as the black "studs" continue leaving early, and the white players stay 'til their junior and senior seasons, I can see 2 white players being the best again.

Morrison is avging 13 pts as a rookie and Redick is playing well right now. I think we should give them more time before we continuously put them down, they are still rookies, and it isn't like they are far behind other rookies from this past year...

Really? You have nothing against Redick or Morrison? Yah, right. But you do have something for "black studs" Are you John Amaeche?

What difference should it make to the NBA if said player is a freshmen or senior? The best in the nation is the "best" over all college classes. Should the player's playing time in the NBA be less because the player is a senior as opposed to a less accomplished freshmen with "potential". Seems to me the opposite would be true if the NBA was truly putting the best product out there. In short, the best should play no matter what year they are in college perhaps even more if they are a polished 4 year college player.

We all know that white players, no matter how good, are expected to toil away on the bench for a couple of years in the NBA at the very least, coming in and out of games, consistently performing well for years before they can be named a starter. Then, when they finally do start they are expected to set picks for star black players that shoot the ball 30 plus times a game with a whopping 37% field goal mark. Even if a coach wanted to focus the offense away from ball-hogging blacks to a sharp shooting white star(see Pete Maravich's story), they most certainly find it nearly impossible to convince four black guys to focus an offense around one white player unless the guys name is Larry Bird and the year is 1985.

As far as the weak class last year, I suppose next your going to say that current heavywieght boxing era is weak or NCAA wrestling. Edited by: Kaptain Poop
