The White Jerry Rice(s)

He is the idol of most receivers in the
league. He was a hard worker and a tough player. Ricky
Proehl had many of the same qualities as Jerry Rice, but was always
branded as slow. Jerry Rice sold many Jerseys in the Caste
era. People assumed he was a speedster because he was black.

I think many white players could be like Rice but are stereotyped and not able to get a #1 job.

Steve Largent was slow too and look what he did.Your
right about Rice being average speed.He had great foot
work and good moves which allowed him to get open.Wayne
Chrebret wasn't the fastest receiver either but always
seemed to burn corners alot and he had great hands.Scouts
and Teams put way too much emphasis on 40 yard dash
times.They don't measure a persons heart and desire to
win which is impossible to stop.Ricky Proehl has had a
great career.I have really enjoyed watching him.With
this being his last season,I hope he goes out on a good
note and makes the Hall Of Fame someday.He deserves it!

I think Chrebet has 4.4 speed. He had to take
hard hits from linebackers and safeties than Jerry Rice or any West
Coast offense receiver too.
