I just did a quick survey of the draft history of current white wide receivers, and the amazing results are as follows. Drafted high, Jurevicous 2nd rd, Nelson, 2nd round, Gonzalez 1st round, Jones 1st round, Curtis 3rd round, then Stokely 4th round, and then some very late picks, Kasper (he's on IR so I'll count him)6th round, and Walter, Anderson and Morey 7th rounds, all late in 7th round, so practically undrafted.
Now, the undrafted, and what a collection. Welker, Camarillo, Payne, Furrey, Finneran, Bennet, Looker and Urban, and now we can add Standeford to the list as he was just signed by Detroit
Thus, about one quarter of white wider receivers are drafted high, about one quarter very low, and about half undrafted. It would be intresting to see if this is substantially different from black WR's.
On the one hand its depressing how much white talent wasn't even drafted, on the other it gives a certain hope in that even if undrafted, a white WR still has a shot at making a team.Edited by: referendum
