Sense of Amateurism and Class in NFL

In the old days, fans could relate to players.
The players all had manners and you had a sense they did not play for
money alone; you had a sense they wanted to win the game. That is
what I mean by Amateurism. Most players(Ty Cobb should be
excluded) did not attack, moon, or curse at fans.

Don talked about the NFL having a strong hold on America.

Where did these days go? At least back then, if the NFL had a hold on America, it would not be a bad thing.

As the changes came about in thr NFL down through the years,it would have been helpful if the fans would have recognized those changes as being negative,and slowly weaned themselves away from the "Unoficial Religion" that is pro football.

Sadly,this population in the U.S.has been slowly manipulated,and "dumbed down" for the last 40 years or so,and here we are.
