Well, Jerry West has the NBA logo, so we have to give a black the first league wide retired number. We still haven't given enough to that 13% demographic, you know j41181! We can't retire Larry Bird's number 33 jersey or Bob Cousey's number 14 (Cousey forced the creation of a shot clock with his run out the clock ball handling)...That is old news! Michael Jordan is the best scorer of all time IMO, but Larry Bird IMO is the best all round basketball player of all time (it's probably between Bird and Magic). Why must Jordan get his jersey retired league wide? (especially after his arrogant HOF induction speech). We haven't done enough for his "Airness" yet right?

Then again, why not? No white dude in this day 'n age has the nerve to wear such a distinct number. Frank Ramsey, and Jeff Mullens are the best white players to wear such a number. Case closed!

The NBA still misses him dearly, and Lebron trying all he can to emulate him in various ways. Things like those are what's really dull and old about the NBA. I admired MJ growing up, but now, I don't admire MJ like I use to, just respect him. He does deserve everyone's respect, regardless of race and religion. He's that special of an individual, just like Magic, just like Larry Legend!

TJR, IMO Bird was the best player ever (and bested MJ in 4 of 8 major career statistics...they were tied in 2 catagories). They need to stop the adoration of meglomaniacal Jordan.
