Deer Park senior RB Travis Carter is having a great year. He is ranked in the top 5 in the Houston area in rushing yds per game (178 yd/game), has rushed 888 yds despite missing 2 games with injury, and has 13 TDs. The 5'-9", 180 lb RB is a 1 star recruit according to Scout.com and isn't listed by Rivals. As far as I can find, he isn't being recruited by any D1 teams.
BTW, Deer Park is undefeated and has only 3 black players on the roster. Only one black player is starting (at WR). The Woodlands is another undefeated team and the top ranked team in the Houston area (alma mater of the Charbonnet brothers and Danny Amendola). They start an entirely white team with the exception of RB and he is about 3/4 white. The playoffs should be interesting with over half of the top ranked 5A teams in the state are almost all white.
