Natalie Stewart ran the fastest girls high school 400m of the year at the BYU Invitational this weekend.
Her time was 53.39.
Her sister Nachelle was 2nd.
They also finished 1-2 finish in the 200 with Natalie winning in 24.61 MR (Nachelle 25.22).
Nachelle ran a US#3 2:08.48 in the 800, and Natalie won the 100m in 12.00 (+0.0).
So Natalie won the 100, 200,and 400.
Her sister was 2nd in the 200, 400, and won the 800.
Very impressive.
And if they were living in another state besides Utah, their coaches probably would have never allowed them to be sprinters .

I tend to agree, but would add Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and some others to the list. However, in some of the states with big black populations, they would have probably both been moved up to the 800 m. after their first losses. Stereotyping runs deep.
