Yes the ESPN card has two Whites in title fights with Moloney as the A side with Butler the long shot B side against ducked Zanibek Alimkhanuly .Boxing schedule for this weekend. The main card will be carried by ESPN+. Zanibek Alimkhanuly vs Steven Baker for the WBO middleweight title and Josh Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio for the Bantamweight title.
Based off the previous title fight of the Montreal based Butler the Eurasian budding star should win and win spectacularly as this is a showcase fight but Denzil Bentley was supposed to be a similar fight and Bentley went the distance and at times the Kazakh national seemed run out of ideas after Bentley stood up to his attack and Bentley won some late rounds. Butler will need to have that staying power to have a shot to win or even go the distance.
Showtime has a PBC card and has no Whites but does have another Central Asian Eurasian fighting Batyr Akhmedov he was last seen losing a paper thin decision to the since exposed drug cheat Puello.
Another loss and the Eurasian may retreat to the Russian/Central Asian circuit.
PS I forgot to mention Jason Moloney has probably a last chance saloon title fight against unknown Filipino Vincent Astrolabio. Similar to the previously discussed Eurasian a loss would probably send Moloney back to Australian circuit.
One thing similar to unknown Mexicans, Filipino fighters who fight at the fly, bantam and featheweight levels can mix at the highest levels of boxing while still being unknown. The gym scenes are deep and churn out hungry unknown fighters. He may be a danger man even if he is the betting dog in this fight.
