Well it didn't take long long for the Magic to get darker and to show what they felt about Darko Milicic. They have reached agreement with Rashard Lewis on a 5 year agreement and it means that they will not sign or even negotiate any longer with Milicic. One more white player gone and one more black player on the team. I guess J.J. Reddick will be the next to go. Actually I don't expect to see but one white player on the team next year (Reddick), and he too will be gone in a year or so.

I almost forgot Rakovic. I dont know if they will even sign him though, although I guess they could keep him around to sit on the bench and play a minute or so each game.

I think they still have Hedo Torkuglu. He's a Turkish white guy and a starter on the team.

The Magic aretrying to unload Turkoglu onto the Kings for Ron Artest. A Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Ron Artest front line would be fierce.

I'm surprised Grant Hill left for a 2 year, $4 million deal. At 14.4 points per game and 52% field goal percentage, I'm thought he's command more money. I guess he really wanted to close out his career with a contender.

It sure would be a small one since Lewis is a small forward and so is Artest. Dwight Howard is usually a power forward. But they'll probably put awesome Tony Battie at center. Grant Hill didn't get offered more money because he has missed a large chunk if not all of the season for the past several years due to injuries. I wish they would trade Redick and make the purge complete.

I'm hopeful Stan Van Gundy will play Reddick. He had Jason Williams, although already established, in Miami and he gave Jason Koppono a lot of minutes at SG/SF last year instead of going to another black player when Wade got injured.

Pat Riley coached the Miami Heat last year.

Another team that had enough of Darko ... maybe I was right all along
about this fraud of a player.

Darko played well in the playoffs and his numbers were very good when he was a starter last year. Yesterday, Redick had 30 points in a summer league game. They should have been playing him more too. Instead of playing Darko, who is at least a threat offensively, they stuck with Tony Battie. Battie is nothing more than a big body. If Darko is signed by Golden State or Memphis, and gets minutes instead of maybe Biedrins at GS, he will show more of what he can do.

GLS..You sure have a big emotional investment in Darko being a failure. Is being proved right that important to you? Darko is still only 21 years old and it's way too early to be talking about him as a bust or a "fraud of a player" as you put it. He will be in the NBA for the next decade for his rebounding and shotblocking skills alone. Offensively I think he is immensley talented and is alot better player than similar high draft choice Kwame Brown ever will be.

It is true that Reddick scored 30 points yesterday. However, in the Orlando paper when they were talking about more playing time Reddick said he hoped this would let Orlando know what he can do and maybe would translate into more playing time. But Van Gundy and then GM Smith seemed to shoot that down. Van Gundy said it would not matter how many points he scored or how many he did not score, if he cannot play better defense then he would not see any time. Smith echoed those sentiments. It is the same old story: White man scores, they say he cant play defense and he sits. Black player is horrible on defense but they say he just cant sit because he is such a great scorer. So typically hypocritical. I live in Orlando but quit watching a few years ago. When we got Reddick I tried watching again but found that you had to watch 10 games just to see him play a total of 5-10 minutes. It stinks

Marcin Gortat started strong in the summer league and then they gradually cut his game time. I think that he will play in Europe again. The Magic do not seem interested in playing the white Euro players.

I certainly am glad they are going to sign him. I like Gortat. But read the article and you see what will happen. They sign one white and then must get rid of another. Augustine is probably the one to go. And they are talking of adding PJ Brown another black player. We have a certain number that we are allowed to carry when it comes to whites, and no more. And how much playing time will Marcin see? Still, I am glad they are going to sign him, just the same.

I'm still frustrated about JJ Reddick. He averaged 21 points per game in the Summer League and he could really be a star player but the Magic don't seem to care.I really hope he can get out of there within the next year or two. He will waste his career away sitting on the bench. This from a guy that is the All Time Leading Scorer in ACC History! What a joke!

And once more we get a little whiter. Travis Diener was not signed and instead has signed a contract with Indiana. Travis was the best pure point guard on the Magic but was never given a chance. I hope he lights the Magic up when they play. And the word is also out that Carlos Arroyo is being shopped around. I know that he is Hispanic but is very light skinned and popular but the Magic are so in love with Jameer "ME FIRST" Nelson and Keeyon Dooling that no one else matters, especially if their skin is the wrong color.

They still have not signed Gortat and I am beginning to wonder if it was just a PR stunt. Maybe the deal will get done but I have heard nothing else about it. Anyone know anything about it.

Also It looks more and more that Rakovic (sp?) will not sign eitherEdited by: Skipperron

Thanks for the info, but where did you get it? According to the official Magic site and their roster he is not on the team. It is not listed on their transaction section either. Hope he signed but I can't find the info.

I also hope this did not post twice. Sorry if it did, I think I messed up.

I have recently found the info on Gortat. He will be signed but the holdup is the fact that they are waiting on the buyout from his European team to be finished.

In the meantime the Magic get even more dark. Adonal Foyle, a 32 year old "defensive specialist" has been signed to a 2 year 2.8 million dollar contract by Orlando. He signed with Orlando because it is closer to his former home. He just recently became a citizen here. Getting darker all the time

I love this. Adonis Foyle never puts up great stats. And if it were a white player doing what he does he would be cut or never signed in the first place. But this was said about Foyle: you have to "look beyond the box score to see his true value". I love it. White player must put up hugh stats to maybe play. Black player, does not matter, we must overlook his lack of good stats.

JJ Reddick is playing in the exhibitions and is looking great. Scoring and passing. He is looking like his Duke days. However, they are still (the Magic management) making comments about how he will play this year only if he improves his defense. Same ole same ole. Black guy scores 20 points and plays no NO defense and is a superstar and no mention is made of his bad D. White scores 20 points and is called soft because he does not play defense and therefore must sit.
