The Browns' coaching staff it seems has been impressed by the play of Kasper during OTAs. He's been running with the 1st team in place of the hurt Donte Stallworth. The Browns have gotten a steal with Kevin.

I live about a hour away from Cleveland and after they drafted Brady Quinn last year I became a fan. It would be nice if Kasper finally catches on to a team and gets a chance to contribute.

Joe Jurevicius just underwent his fourth knee operation in the past year. Realistically he seems done for this season if not for good. The Browns now are in need of a third receiver. Will Kasper finally get a genuine opportunity this season? He's one of those white receivers the NFL especially loves to treat like a junkyard dog. Probably Kasper himself can't remember the number of times he's been waived and the number of teams he's tried out for, even though he's a tremendous athlete with excellent speed andwas a record setting receiver at Iowa and has looked goodin his very limited NFL action.

Check out his tortured NFL career here. All the black bums playing receiver in the league and not a single team has givenKasper more than the slightest opportunity to establish himself: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KaspKe00.htm ?redirEdited by: Don Wassall

I watched Kasper at Iowa and was stunned by his speed....he was basically the second coming of Tim Dwight. Two years ago, awesomely productive WR Ed Hinkel became the new NFL's new White-WR-From-Iowa whipping boy (he was undrafted and cut by the Colts).

I remember even the lowly Cardinals cutting Kasper back when the team was even worse. I'd love to see this guy finally get a decent chance at starting. I recently saw this article about Kasper being compared to Wes Welker by Fateo Crennel...

http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2008/05/22/kevin-kasper-is-no thing-like-wes-welker-but-theyre-both-white/

I find it strange that a pencil-neck, jock-sniffing little homosexual sportswriter would even touch a subject as "controversial" as reverse-racism. Perhaps the sports media is beginning to grow a pair and tell the truth....but I doubt it.

Don's 100% correct. In a league with totally unathletic, hands-of-stone loser WRs like Doug Gabriel, Troy Williamson, Darrell Jackson, Mike Williams, Freddy Mitchell, etc...Kasper should at least have a #3 WR spot.Edited by: Thrashen

Jurevicius is still expected back by the Browns to start the season and be a 3rd Wr for them. So I am hoping Kasper beats out wasted draft picks Travis Wilson and Cyndric Steptoe for the fourth or fifth spot. I think he will.

If Kasper doesn't "beat out" Wilson and Steptoe it will be because of pressure from Phil Savage. He doesn't want some white WR FA to beat out his two "all star" draft selections.

I would hope Savage would care more about winning games. We will see. Wilson has been a huge disappointment and Steptoe was a afterthought late round pick projected as a punt returner/kick returner and the Browns already have the gifted returner Josh Cribbs. Steptoe is a 4.6 guy on a good day.

Steptoe ran a 4.59 40 yard according to NFLdraftscout at the NFL combine. At 5 foot 9 inches and running a 4.59, if he were white he probably wouldn't even get a training camp invite. Funny that this short pretty slow man is called Steptoe. Maybe "baby Steptoe" or "run so heavy footed you stub your Steptoe" would be a good analogy!

I could see the guy getting drafted if he had phenomenal production in college, but not only is he small and slow his stats were pretty weak. I don't know maybe they drafted this guy for his return ability, but this guy is no Wes Welker. Steptoe has 2 returns for TDs in college compared to 8 for Welker and his short area burst and cutting ability is not as good as Welker.

I was thinking the same thing last year when the Browns drafted him. His production in college barely earned him a invite into a CFL camp much less a NFL draft pick. It's clearly a racist move by the Browns if Steptoe keeps a job over Kasper this season.

If you were to make a Mike Hass comparison. Hass ran the same combine time as Steptoe, but is 4 inches taller and had phenomenal college stats winning the Bilitnikoff award as Division One's best WR, compared to average to below average stats for Steptoe. I am sure also that Hass runs routes as well as Steptoe and is also more physical with better hands. Hass also has an impressive burst. There is a clear double standard!

4.59 isn't ploddingly slow, but it is slower than average and this Steptoe guy stands out nowhere as an NFL caliber player! Tell me how this guy gets drafted in the 7th round and makes a practice squad when Hass was a 6th round pick from the Saints who cut him and attempted to sign him to a practice squad. Now Hass is getting screwed by his new team the Bears! White players just can't win!

If Kasper dosent catch on here hes not going to catch on anywhere. Jurvicious might not be able to hold up so Kasper has a chance.
Does anyone remember Kasper returning kickoffs as a rookie for Denver? He was awesome. Funny how he never returned a punt or kickoff at Iowa and was labeled a possesion receiver. I saw Kasper play and I hate to say it but he looked slow and tight for Iowa... was I ever wrong after his combine times and his ability to get upfield on kickoffs.

Kasper finally played in the third quarter of the Browns-Lions game today after getting over his hamstring injury. On third and very long in his first series, Ken Dorsey threw him a short pass over the middle. Three Lions defenders instantly converged on Kasper, one hitting him helmet to helmet. Kasper staggered off then was escorted by a trainer off the field to the locker room. The sideline report was "head or neck injury." It looked like a concussion when it happened. Looks like he was finally going to get an opportunity after being waived by seemingly half the teams in the league and he can't stay healthy.

Also from that game did you see John Standefords circus catch that was just out of bounds. Great stuff. It's ridiculous that Standeford isn't starting on a professional football team. That guy can play.

Standeford has been magnificant this preseason, in the limited play he's had. But he is on a team that really can't use him. Even if he makes the team (which I predict he won't), he would be no better than Detroit's 5th WR. Now, if only he, or Jordy Nelson, or Mike Hass, or David Ball, or Matt Jones, were on a team that couldn't ignore their talents, like the 49ers, then maybe they'd actually have a chance.

But wait a minute, Hass and Ball are on a team like that; the Bears, who have the worst group of WRs ever assembled. Both will be cut, and Brandon Lloyd will be a starter. How can anyone not believe this is a conspiracy?

I agree bigunreal. Your post here and on Leinart in the Cardinals forum are spot on. I personally can't stand football anymore.

Kevin Kasper suffered a mild concussion during the Browns' preseason game over the weekend. Tough break: Kasper had already missed the first two preseason games with a hamstring, and is reportedly now in danger of not making the roster. He had been running as a No. 3 when camp started.

Only a white WR can go from #3 to being cut without hitting the playing field.

Btw- it's another sad day for white players. Jeremy Bloom was cut by the Steelers, with the fantasy web site acknowledging that he "hardly got a look." Darren Sproles is running through Priest Holmes-like holes in the Chargers-Seahawks game, and Ron Jaworski is salivating over him like John Madden salivates over Brett Favre. Jacob Hester has hardly hit the field, but he has managed to be stuffed near the goal line a couple of times. On the last one, black announcer Mike Tirrico snidely remarked, "he's gonna find it's a lot easier to score in the SEC than the NFL." Jaworski giggled happily at this hysterical comment. On the next play, the microscopic Sproles easily scored, as the defense appeared to have a lot less intensity than it did against Hester. Oh, and on the long Seattle TD play to Nate Burleson, Tirrico made sure to point out that the Chargers' Eric Weddle had missed a tackle. They certainly can spot those missed tackles by whites.

Like Shogun says, it's hard not to hate football.

The limp-wristed Jawarski also made a comment about the Seahawks RB/FB, Owen Schmitt (after him and the gang continually referred to him as a "run-away beer truck")...."Owen Schmitt is a good blocker, but not much of a runner at all."

I think "Jaws," along with Tony Kornholer need to be smashed right in their ugly caste faces by real men like Schmitt.

Jawsis somewhatbetter than most announcers, but knee-jerk Caste responses get the best of him sometimes.Hedoes speakout repeatedly against "running QBs," saying that throwing the ball accurately is far more important than running ability. Gee, who would have thought? Sort of like the revelation one sometimes reads from a slack-jawed feminist who finally discovers that men and women are different.

I'll tell you one thing -- the broadcast was much easier to listen to without Tony Kornheiser in the booth last night.

I guess he never watches college football and those long runs that Schmitt made that were anything but rumbling, stumbling down the field. He runs a 4.5 and he can either run over you or fake you right out of your shoes. What a moron.

Hey Don, who took Kornholio's place? I never listen to that crew and don't keep up with them.

It was just Tirico and Jaworski. I didn't catch the explanation but I think Kornheiser had underwent minor surgery of some kind which caused him to miss the broadcast.
