Just how dumb or dumbed down are people today?

In the video below a basic question about cost per unit is asked. With reasonable, average, competency a man ought to come to the answer within 30 seconds to a minute. The man in the video can't even solve the problem with a calculator! Yikes!

Dumbed down and pussified. The supposed "lead news story" on a local channel tonight is what the black female anchor referred to as "brutal cold" (and yes, her male co-anchor is also black; what an incredible master race blacks are, just 13% of the population and only about 5% in the metro Pittsburgh region but "diversity" is set aside for their peerless brilliance when it comes to speaking English). The air temperature is 23 at 6:00 with a bit of a wind, in other words slightly below what to expect on an average day in Pittsburgh this time of year.

When I lived in Las Vegas for several years I was amazed how even the threat of rain or strong winds would vault to the top of that day's news stories. But when I moved back to Pittsburgh I found that the weather here was also now often the lead story -- weathermen breathlessly reporting on potential rain or snow or cold, aka typical weather. In fact, the entire time the weather report is given on Channel 11, in the upper right is a graphic saying "Severe Weather Team" even though there is the threat of actual severe weather here only a few times a year. Gotta keep everyone on edge and fearing the worst at all times dontcha know.

It's part of the dumbing down and pussification of the serfs, and partly a lack of genuine news to report on many days.

What a "mafflete"! :lol:

I wonder how these long-redundant cotton picking and sugarcane harvesting tools "learn" their maths?

"Right, ya got two hoes. Dem fat bitch's be giv'n ya sum sass so ya bust 'em in da mouf so hard dat ya knock out some mutha-fuk'n teef. Now, ya lis'n good DaShawn, d'ya hear? Pay tenshun! If da fers hoe loss two teef an' da sec'n hoe loss free teef, how many teef ya done gone knockt out?"

People working in customer service seem dumber than ever, and more and more don't give a **** about doing their job right.

Two recent examples of several I could cite: I signed up with a new internet service provider a few months back. The genius that took my information over the phone managed to list my name on the account as Dawn Rollis. Yes, Don Wassall was turned into Dawn Rollis! And it took three subsequent phone calls to get them to finally change it. The first two drones said they'd make the changes but didn't; the third one managed to get it changed to Dan Wassall. That only took three long phone calls trying to get through to a human voice to finally motivate one to get it partially right.

Example 2: Last month I bought a new TV and needed a new receiver from the satellite company to hook it up to. The service guy brought one and I paid for it while he was there by credit card over the phone. End of case, right? Nope, DirecTV for some reason sent me another receiver in the mail (charging me for it of course). Phone call number one to get them to correct their mistake lasted nearly an hour, and of course there was no follow-up (they were supposed to send me a FedEx box and return label to mail it back to them but didn't). Made another call last week and finally received not one but two boxes in the mail today. I'm afraid to open them up as I know they screwed up again and will force me to waste yet more time dealing with them over the phone.

The positive side to dealing with these increasingly incompetent mega-corporations and their dumbed-down low-paid employees is that it's indicative of the growing dysfunctionality of the larger society, which more and more relies on high-tech -- and a stupider and ever more apathetic labor force to make it work. The system's biggest psychological weapon is its assurance that it's infallible, that it will go on and on despite the efforts of those that oppose it. We'll see. . .

Don, by any chance were any of these customer service reps from India? I know that many US companies today outsource their customer service to India and other countries and I usually end up with someone that can't even speak English.

They were all American. One was a thick-tongued black girl at a call center somewhere in Mississippi. I wasn't surprised she screwed up as she had to keep asking her supervisor questions, but the others were White sounding Americans and they were just as incompetent.

Indians and Filipinos who work at foreign call centers tend to be more competent or at least try to get it right, though their English is often difficult to understand.

You guys should look up FizzBuzz, it's a common exercise they have programmers do during job interviews.

Basically you count up to 100 printing each number once on a new line except when the number is divisible by 3 or 5. If the number is divisible by 3 you print Fizz instead. If the number is divisible by 5 you print Buzz. If it's divisible by both you print FizzBuzz. Long story short most applicants fail to even make a FizzBuzz. Many of these people attended years of college. Want to see how easy a FizzBuzz is?

Code:
for(number=1;number<=100;number++){
    if (number % 3 == 0 and number % 5 == 0) print "fizzbuzz"
    else if (number % 3 == 0) print "fizz"
    else if (number % 5 == 0) print "buzz"
    else print number
    print new line
}

Congratulations, CFers you now know more than the average "programmer".

Back when we had the "TalmudVision", I used to occasionally watch the Tonight Show with Leno. One of the most interesting segments was "Jay Walking"...where he'd hit the SoCal streets & ask folks basic trivia questions. I was so amazed at the amount of zombified sheep that he spoke with, that I hoped it was a "work" (staged) for laughs. I found myself thinking, "there's NO way that this many folks are that ignorant". IF that's an indicator of the "average" citizen in Amerika 2.0, then it's further affirmation that our (collective) "goose is cooked". <:-(

Don, I had both Direct TV and Dish, was not totally happy with either, over charged etc. A guy at work told me to consider U-Verse. U=Verse bundles land line phone, computer and TV. I save at least 100.00 a month by bundling the services with U-Verse. Something to consider. I have had them for 2 yrs this summer. I have had a couple issues with service, but they corrected the issues immediately. So far, I am happy.

Is anybody else having trouble commenting? My keyboard seems to slow down and miss letters and spaces when I comment and then I have to type very slowly and go advanced or it won't post.

Yes The Hock, Westside. Mine does this often. When this happens, I have to go up and click on the A/A icon, above the quote line. This seems to work for me. Try this and see if it helps.

Right. Down here in NC. The weather is reported every 7 minutes during the regular news broadcast from 5 am to 7 am. That's right every 7 minutes. It even says you're never more than 7 minutes away from weather and traffic updates. Is this just here, or is this something countrywide?

BTW, while watching the news this morning, there were at least 5 crimes reported from murder to theft to extortion and all 5-6 crimes were committed by blacks! Call me dumb or naïve, but that seemed a little high. Is this the norm everywhere around the country. I generally see a few whites committing crimes. I had to laugh about one particular black guy. While on his robbing spree among others, he knocked off a Church's Chicken!:icon_lol:

Same thing happens in Wisconsin! Ever watch the show first 48? I've watched probably25-30 episodes and 90% of these violent crimes are by blacks in inner cities across the country.

Westside, if I may ask, how much do you pay for internet, phone, and tv? Right now I have a contract that lasts 11 more months with Verizon. I have a land line, which I never use and have no use for, internet, and cable tv. I pay 93 dollars a month for all three but that is on the two year contract special. Once it ends it will go up to around 130 a month. I plan on cancelling the land line and the cable tv at that point. I have a cell phone so no use for a land line and I watch little television. I'll just keep Netflix for 9 bucks a month. It blows cable tv out of the water.

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve watched that show. I was astonished that a show did not engineer the content in a manner to show more diversity, if you get my drift. I am surprise it is still aired.

The whole Law&Order franchise does a great job of social engineering - 99% of the time they make out the criminals to be white. That show along with its spin-offs has to be the longest running joke on TV.

I pay 150.00, but that is with all the cable channels, excluding the porn sites such as playboy, etc.

LOL I've always noticed (and used to never understand) how the perps on every crime drama are white dudes. Criminal minds, blue bloods, L&O, CSI, etc. always have whites in the criminal role. Despite the fact that any dimwit can easily access crime date/stats and totally demolish this narrative, it keeps on rolling.

A number of years ago I read an article, the gist of which was that when Law and Order first started out, something like half of all their perps were black or Hispanic, i.e. closer to representing the reality of perps in New York City than the show does now but still not coming close to actually representing reality, where perps are at least 80-90% minority. The result for some reason is that the show's ratings weren't very good. When they switched the strategy so that most of the perps were white, the ratings took off. The article attributed this to most of the audience being white, and that audience being more interested in watching a show about people like themselves. Those of us here at CF would rather watch a show that mirrors reality, but for most of the non-racially conscious white people out there, this may be true.

There is a definite nexus between the "generosity" of a state's welfare system and the number of abjectly "brainless" citizens it eventually produces. Australia and the United Kingdom offer virtually limitless taxpayer-funded "benefits" which have - over several decades - created an enormous "sub-class" of frighteningly dysgenic people who are nothing more than unemployable parasites. In my eyes, the hordes of indolent dregs which lope in and out of Centrelink (Australia) and Jobcentre Plus (UK) for their entire lives do not even deserve to be called human.

As I've said on a couple of previous occasions, one could easily "dispose" of 10-15 % of the White Australian population without adversely impacting upon the nation's productivity (the same goes for the UK). In fact, the Treasury would save billions by no longer having to fund the unemployment "benefits", baby bonuses, "parenting payments", "back to school" payments, bogus "disability" pensions, public housing subsidies, et cetera gifted to lifelong bludgers who have never contributed a single cent of tax revenue themselves. This money could instead be used to build infrastructure, develop industry and agriculture, recruit and maintain military forces whose numbers and capabilities are equal to current geopolitical requirements and - here's the part that's directly germane to this thread - to provide a quality public education system.

As we all know, the education system has been thoroughly debased as a result of gradual infiltration by leftists who have now gained almost total control of the teaching sector. This has inevitably unleashed perennially cascading effects upon society and the most destructive consequence of the long-term implementation of the leftists' policies at government level (apart from non-White immigration) has been the rapid expansion of that dysgenic "sub-class" I referred to earlier. The welfare state has deliberately provided a failsafe system whereby the worst elements of White society can successfully breed at a dangerously fast - and ultimately unsustainable - rate. This unprecedented phenomenon contravenes the very laws of Nature, which dictate that people who are too stupid and lazy to provide for their children may very well produce plenty of worthless offspring but - thankfully - most of those offspring fail to survive as a consequence of their feckless parents' inadequacies and neglect.

The liberal-socialist "redistribution of wealth" via welfare has precipitated a demographic nightmare. Here in Australia, the time-bomb has been ticking for decades but it began ticking even louder in 2002 when the so-called "conservative" Coalition government insanely introduced the "Baby Bonus" payment. Implementation of this policy ostensibly promised "productive, tax-paying citizens of the future who shall help drive the economy". Instead, every public housing Centrelink slag began to churn out brat after brat in order to cop the $5000 per child. The Abos were already breeding like the maggots that they are but You can imagine what happened once the Baby Bonus was added to the equation. Thirteen years later, the fuse has almost burnt through and the bomb is about to explode. The huge volume of bone-idle Whites of patently inferior stock has already surpassed a critical mass and forms an unsustainable burden upon the responsible majority but once the "Baby Bonus generation" begins to come of "Centrelink age" the Treasury shall literally be unable to cope with the sudden massive spike in demand for welfare handouts. Needless to say, the judicial and prison systems shall be similarly swamped - not to mention the effect this shall have upon the "democratic process".

The greater the number of worthless parasites infesting society, the more society moulds itself around the "lowest common denominator" approach to life. Apart from the realm of "entertainment", nowhere is this approach more pronounced than in the public education system.

The shockingly incompetent and openly leftist teaching profession has euphemisms and excuses for everything. Little Brayden isn't a lice-ridden little ****e who's dumber than a sack of turnips. Oh no, he "suffers" from multiple "learning disabilities" that prevent him from achieving his "true potential" (which, I guess, is a metaphor for spelling his own idiotic name...). Foul-mouthed little Tyson, with his rat's tail crew cut and repulsive miniature mugshot face isn't an aggressively disruptive waste of space who'll obviously never amount to anything (apart from a drugged up, tattoo-covered petty criminal houso just like his flat-faced old man, that is...). No, this pint-sized prick has ADHD or some other "syndrome" which - You guessed it - prevents him from achieving his supposed "potential".

I deal with tertiary students on a daily basis and can tell You that a huge chunk of them should never be allowed anywhere near a university - even in the capacity of cleaners. I thought things were bad in my undergraduate days back in the early 1990s when I despaired at the stunning ignorance of many of my fellow students (let alone that of the so-called "academics"...). Now, however, in terms of intellect I'd estimate that close to half of the general student population can be classified as "Darwin Award" candidates. That's "universal higher education" for You...

Here's a vitally important thing which must be kept in mind: one cannot teach a moron anything, particularly if the said moron is unwilling to even make an attempt. The only potential contribution such genetic "welfare" dross is capable of offering society consists of unskilled physical labour. This is how the world always functioned. Unfortunately, the ready availability of bountiful taxpayer-funded "benefits" removes the necessity of working as it negates the traditional exigencies of life thereby creating an entire social stratum of carefree leeches for whom even the most basic of skills - let alone knowledge - are entirely superfluous.

Please accept my apologies for the lengthy rant but consuetudinis magna vis est... :icon_wink:

Rebajlo, superb as always. You have a talent for laying out hideous truths and a being hilarious at the same time. Sad to see these great countries dumbing themselves down with these policies. We have a comedian whose catch phrase is "you can't fix stupid."
You really can't fix stupid, especially with college.
