This kid is outstanding. He won the MVP of the McDonalds
High School All American Game.He also finished a very
close 2nd in the national h.s. slam dunk contest. He did
some nice 360 dunks and between the legs.He is a good
rebounder and shooter. Here is a link to an article on
him.Could be another C.Laettner type.

its amazing how many white players were in the game last night. Moreover, they showed the '04 game with only one white. My fav. player Robert Swift.

I remember reading an article last year about a black girl who can dunk who won the dunk contest last year. Talk about pathetic!

It's great to hear that there was an influx of white players this year. Would be good if we couldtrack what college programs they end up on versus where the black ones go.

McRoberts is a swell kid. Very talented. Better prospect than Greg Newton and Shavlik Randolph and more athletic than Christian Laettner. Also impressive at McDonalds game was Micah Downs a superb athlete/leaper headed to Kansas. Eric Devendorf will team with McNamara at Syracuse to form best white backcourt we hope. And Tyler Hansborough, headed to NC is a good tough athlete. And everyone kept saying Greg Paulus is too slow which is not really true. Has fairlynice quickness but is a great passer. He and Josh will make a great tendem at Duke. A couple of white guys left no impression--Bobby Frasor and Luke Zeller. Not to say they won't be any good but didn't stand out in game thats all.

Half the starters were white. McRoberts is in the mold of a
European big man: slight frame, fluid, athletic, with an excellent
jump shot. Four of the guys are going to Duke, North Carolina,
and Kansas. Another is going to Washington. Not bad.

I just got done watching the replay of the McDonalds
National H.S. Slam Dunk Contest.I must admit that I
was very impressed.I can't remember a Dunk Contest in
my lifetime with 3 whites out of the 8 guys in the
contest. It was very refreshing.McRoberts go screwed over.
He had it won but the judges screwed him and only gave
him a tie score to send it in to a overtime round.Josh
said his idol is David Lee who is headed to the nba.
Lee is as good a dunker as I have ever seen.I was really
impressed with Micah Downs. He reminds me of Rex Chapman
but I think he even jumps higher.Overall,I really
enjoyed this contest.I am seeing some progress finally!

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, WL, but that really bothers me.
We need to be objective about white athletes. It's great that
you like him and root for him. That's what we're all about. But
we have to try our best to be as accurate as possible when
determining their ability. There are clearly better dunkers out
there.

I saw the replay also. I don't know if McRoberts got screwed, but he could have just as easily won. He almost looked too smooth. On the last dunk the crowd just reacted to other guys dunk better; all he did was the between the legs dunk that McRoberts did on his first attempt. I thought the second to last dunk McRoberts did was the best of the night. Who is david lee anyway?

Josh McRoberts is fitting in at Duke very well. They are still the number one team in the nation. He brings it at both ends of the floor.Man,can this guy really jump.He has had some earth shattering dunks. He looks like a star already and he is only a freshman.Keep it up Josh!
