Australia continues to show that white men and women can run fast, given a chance to develop and compete.
Joel Milburn, 21 years old, is the latest Australian speedster.
He set a personal best of 45.19 this weekend in a race in Sydney.
With the season just getting underway, it seems likely he will become an elite sub-45 runner.
Australia has plenty of other 400m runners as well, and had another newcomer, Dalton Grant - 19 yrs old, running 45.69.
Australia ran 2nd to the USA in the 4 x 400m relay at the Olympics in Athens, and they continue to bring new talent to their team.

I'd like to see good conditions but the weather predictions are for cold
and rain at this stage. It's been Sydney's coolest summer for many
decades

wouldn't you know it!

Sydney Grand Prix weather predictions are for showers and south to
southeast (ie opposing) winds.

So just when we all want to see Wariner run a fast 200 or Shirvo make
some sort of comeback this is what we get.

I'm debating whether to go or not!
