Hello,

I am new here to Caste Football...I would like to inquire about former Steeler TE Jay Riemersma.

He was one of my favorite players but the Steelers cut him in Feb for 'salary cap reasons' according to ESPN.

No one has picked him up as far as I know. Is this true? Jay caught the
4th quarter TD aganist NY Jets in the playoffs and hurt his achilles (I
think) on the play.

Any word on Riemersma and how his rehab has gone and if any teams are looking to sign him for this season.

Thanks and glad to be here!

As of right now,I can't see him on any roster but there
is still time.Jay is a very solid tight end and hopefully
will end up somewhere. The main reason that the Steelers
let him go is his age,and the fact that they drafted the
future pro bowl tight end,H.Shuler.This kid has skills
similar to Shockey and Heap.He will be fun to watch with
Big Ben getting him the ball.Welcome to the board Trainer.

The TE Pittspuke drafted was Heath Miller. Heath Shuler was the bust early 90s quarterback drafted by the Jets.

Riemersma was injured most of last season. The Steelers like blocking TEs and Jay is mostly a receiving tight end. Even Heath Miller will have to do heavy blocking with Pittsburgh.
