Ed Hinkel is a star at WR for the Hawkeyes. He will be a senior this year.

How in the world could I have forgotten/overlooked Hinkel? Thanks for the heads up Don!

Only three white starters on defense for Iowais a disappointment, though Greenway looks like a high first round draft pick in '06.

another player to watch is 6'7 tight end scott chandler. who could end up being a starter next season. He has very good hands and decent speed.

WR Hinkle had the best catch in college football last year, you know that sick diving backwards one handed grab. ESPN actually showed it over and over again. Though in typical caste football style the other not as good tall black WR Solomon gets all the hype. Now that pisses me off.

Iowa needs more whites on defense and it looks like Ohio State has more whites then Iowa.

It's definitely a down year for white Iowa defenders, at least number-wise. Hopefully those guys at OSU will be able to get some attention from the media. There are just a handful of D1 schools with all white linebackers.

According to collegefootballnews.com, the tailback situation at Iowa is as follows: "Albert Young(black) and Marcus Schnoor(white) have moved to the top of the depth chart after missing time last year with injuries. The two have vastly different styles with Schnoor, a former walk-on, providing the power while Young, a top prep player, is the all-around rusher expected to grow into a star with more work." Hopefully Schnoor will beat this guy out. There were a few blacks he had to beat out to get into the rotation with Young.

Maybe Schnoor will win out. That would be a big boost to the number of white starting RB's. This year looks to have 8 or so guys either with the start, splitting time, or in the running for it.

Schnoor was actually slated to start in the first game last year before he got hurt. he was talked about as having a lot of speed then, so hopefully his injuries haven't taken that burst away from him.

to follow up, Iowa had 10 white guys starting on offense including an all-white backfield! the lonely black man was at wide receiver. Schnoor showed some jitters in his first game action in over a year coming off an injury, but did score on the opening drive. it looks like he's gonna get a shot as the featured back.

on defense, Iowa had 5 white guys including Adam Shada getting the starting nod at corner. he wasn't thrown at while i was watching the game, but i turned the channel when Iowa put in all their back-ups when the score was 42-0 early in the 2nd quarter.

Iowa QB Drew Tate got knocked out of the game with a concussion and his black backup did nothing as Iowa's national title hopes were ended today by Iowa State. But Iowa State is an easy team to root for, lots of whites on offense and defense, including two standout starting WRs in Todd Blythe and Austin Flynn.
