I was thinking about the strategies that various groups use to get their way, and the "rallying cries" that they use to create loyalty and unity amongst eachother, and to manipulate others. The ones that I could think of are:

Playing the Victim (blacks and Jews, as examples)

Race (blacks)

Patriotism/ Nationalism (Mexicans)

Religion (Muslims)

The interesting thing is that white Americans cannot use any of these. If we say we're "victims" we'll be laughed at. If we use race as our rallying cry we'll be called racists. We can't use patriotism because America has become the Great Multicultural Society, "Diversity is our strength," "We're a nation of immigrants," etc. We can't use our predominant religion, Christianity, because it is a universal religion ("love thy neighbor," we're all brothers, children of God, etc.) It's no wonder we're doing so terribly. All these strategies are working so well for others, but we can't use them.

There's one more strategy that a group can use to further it's interests, Government and Economic Policy (China.) Of course we can't use this one either, because our politicians couldn't care less abour our interests (for all the same reasons that we can't use the others.) Edited by: JD074
