He missed all of last season and now he's injured again. The media praise this guy got makes me sick. Many were stating that a player of his caliber only comes around every 10 years or so.

i don't know about bust, but the latest foot injury doesn't bode well. foot problems have been a common career-ender for tons of talented big men throughout the history of the NBA.

however, before Oden injured his foot late in the second quarter, it should be pointed out that Pau Gasol was wearing him out.

when Oden went to the bench, having guarded each other almost exclusively while the two were on the floor together, Gasol had 15 points on 7-9 shooting and repeatedly out ran Oden down the court for easy dunks and lay-ups, and had 4 rebounds.

Oden, meanwhile, had ZERO points on 0-4 shooting, 2 turnovers, and 2 fouls, which had caused him to spend quite a bit of time on the bench early on. he did have 5 rebounds, though.

Oden, like many young players these days, is getting far too much hype before he deserves it. if he ever will deserve the hype, now that he's injured again, is certainly a good question.

Greg Oden is just like another Ohio St. product, Terrelle Pryor, too much hype before he deserves it. Unfortunately for Oden, he's much closer to being the next Sam Bowie than the next Patrick Ewing.
