Let's hope Chris Matthews doesn't cut Ron Paul off after 15 seconds. Paul is positioned between Giulani and McCain so they are trying to appear to be fair. Now that Fox will let all 10 canadidates debate Brit Hume as a moderator is pretty fair and will let em talk.

Let's see if Number 2 man Tom Tancredo can come off as more than a one dimensional candidate.

Hope you guys are watching this!

Rudy Giuliani: "When I was mayor of New York.. when I was mayor of New York.. when I was mayor of New York..."

You gotta love Ron Paul: "We stood up to the Soviet Union, who had 40,000 nuclear weapons, and now we're running around sweating a bunch of third world nations with no army, navy, or air force???"

Romney comes across to me as too polished.

Tancredo speaks very clearly and there has been no equivocation in his answers so far (45 minutes into the debate.)

I have noticed that it seems like Ron Paul is not getting nearly as many questions as the other candidates. One other great quote: "If you were president, would you abolish the IRS?" His reply? "Yes!"
smiley36.gif
9He did go on to clarify a bit, but it was hilarious for that moment.)

An hour in, most of these guys are offering nothing but shuffling around of the same ideas. There is nothing novel at all in what they're offering. Tancredo, Ron Paul and one or two others are in favor of tax overhaul, i.e. institution of flat tax or the Fair Tax.Very few offer anything novel in the way of Iraq or foreign policy, except again of course, Ron Paul, who advocates slashing foreign aid, withdrawing our troops and foregoing any further activities as the world's policeman.

Predictably, the talking heads have determined that Giuliani, McCain, and Romney held their lead and that no other candidate did anything to advance their position. They're not discussing any of the other candidates. They still see it as a 'three-way race.'

Wow! Amazing that with over 4,000 votes so far, Ron Paul is running second on most of the positive answers to Mitt Romney, while the talking heads are still talking about the unholy trio of McCain, Romney, and Giuliani! The poll results show Giuliani as the candidate most viewers thought avoided answering questions, which was my own view as well. According to the poll so far, McCain had the most rehearsed answers.

I will be simply amazed if Ron Paul or Tancredo win the nomination. Amazed. It will mean that there are truly more people fed up than even us on the fringe could have guessed.

I watch alot of these political debates and these cable channels always check out their "online" voting statistics. However, tonight they have not mentioned it. Ron Paul is up there with the "big 3". This should be big news, but not a word has been mentioned about it.

They're trying to paint Giuliani as pro-life. The mental gymnastics the talking heads are going through pumping their favorites is worthy of Olympic gold. Edited by: White Shogun

The mormons are out in force tonight as I see Romney's positive numbers going up. There are probably thousands of them voting repeatedly. Nothing personal, but I have lived among them and know how they operate.

I just took a look, too, looks like McCain's numbers are bumping up as well. These guys all probably have paid campaigners logging on and voting multiple times.

I lost track of guys like Brownback, Hunter, and Thompson, although a couple of those guys were also for the abolition of the IRS and implementation of the Fair Tax.

The debate did little more for me than cement in my mind than Ron Paul, and Tancredo a close second, are the only two guys I want to see in office. McCain is a pompous a**, Giuliani is too slick and is definitely a liberal, and Romney too much of a career politician.

The MSM people seem to really like Paul surprisingly. Here are the comments I posted. In Parethesis I'll put additional comments.

I am a Ron Paul Supporter for the record. The Manichurian Caniadates got most of the time.

Mitt Romney - Talk about a phony, good stage presence though.(Gees this guy is so much a machine candidate Carrol Quigley must clapping in his grave. He's a mormon so knows he could be a closet Homo)

Sam Brownback - We are not in church buddy, talk about real American issues not the bible.(Seemed sincere on family values, but too mainstream on the rest and wants illegal immigrant amnesty)

Tommy Thompson - Butt Ugly man, no substance just a copy cat.(Wants RFID chips in people, and sucks on every issue)

Jim Gilmore - Eh, he did ok but didn't really seemed prepared.(Pussy on Immigration he ran during the Virgina election. Did nothing for me)

Rudy Giulani - Moving porn shops 3 blocks from Times Square is not solving crime.(I live in the New York Area this guy is worthless amoral human being and has no guts on any issue. His campaign went down the tubes today)

John McCain - Talk about an angry man. Seemed extremely ignorant and made stupid jokes to avoid answering questions. Pittiful performance.(I don't want to write a book on him so that's all)

Duncan Hunter - This guy is huge. Was he a linebacker I don't agree with him on the war, but he had the strongest presence of the night. Really hit the nail on the head on trade. We need a president with a presence like him and Ron Paul's views. Came off as smart, articulate, and level headed. Keep your mouth shut on Israel and you can be VP with Paul. Great performance.(Did better than Tom in terms of presence and didn't clearly sell us out on Israel yet.)

Tom Tancredo - Did not do enough to distinguish himself as a multi dimensional candidate. Like the mention of pardoning Ramos and Compean. However, his stand on Israel just lost any support I would throw for him.(Sorry he sold us out today, can't support him. Plus he never talks about legal immigration either)

Ron Paul - Treated like garbage the whole time. Chris Matthews should be fired for the way he treated Paul making comments like Oh god, and angirily saying time is up. Paul is a mild mannered man and expected to be treated with some diginity. After he was being rushed he got more nervous, despite that he got all the points he needed to get across and came off as a true american, and not plastic like Mitt Romney.(He and Hunter did the best in getting their points across. Paul wasn't even at his best, he looked fatigued and maybe he was sick. He still kicked ass.)

I just caught a quick glimpse of the TV when they were posting results. All I heard was something like, "The roar of a lion from Ron Paul supporters, who is leading right now..." Don't know what they meant, leading in the online polls or what? I thought they said he had "39%" of the vote? Anybody catch that?

Of course, the closing comment on the show was only about how the vote probably shifted from Giuliani to Romney.

I caught it. They are talking about another poll on MSNBC, which allows you to rate the candidates. Before the debate Ron Paul had 9% positive response. After the debate he was up to 38% positive (when MSNBC showed the stat.) Currently he is at 46%, Romney is at 35%. Here is the website (you can vote here as well)

Think about how well Ron Paul might do if he actually got some face time and mention by the MSM.

I despise Chris Matthews more than almost anyone in teh media. He should be doing anything but the job that he is in. He's a piece of garbage if there ever was one.

I already sent mine, if these numbers keep up they're going to have to let him in. Then again the Zionist Cocksuckers will probably say oh the poll numbers were rigged, Ron Paul doesn't count. The lowiest derilict criminals and illegal aliens are better than most members of the media.

Chris Matthews is a waste of life and he made me wish abortion was legal the year he was born. Same goes for Keith Olbermann. Tom Tancredo gets the bronze for sellouts tonight after his ringing endorsement of Israel. The others already were so they don't count.

Looks like Dr. Paul is in. This press release just came out the other day.

All 10 Are In: Fox News Says No Candidate Will Be Left Out of GOP Debate
By Fred Lucas
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
May 02, 2007

(CNSNews.com) - All 10 current candidates for the Republican Party's 2008 presidential nomination will be able to take part in a debate to be aired on Fox News on May 15, the cable channel said Wednesday.

Cybercast News Service reported earlier that seven of the 10 might not make the cut for the debate given the organizers' decision to exclude those not achieving at least one percent in opinion polls.

That drew sharp criticism and concern from some conservative commentators and campaigns. But the network and the organizers - the South Carolina Republican Party - affirmed that all 10 candidates would be in the debate.

If Dr.Paul got any real coverage from the bogus "mainstream" media, he'd run away with this thing no doubt. If the American people knew of his voting record and platform, they'd rally behind this great patriot. However, since the Globalist Elite own/control the MSM, Dr.Paul is being buried to limit his exposure.

YA'LL KEEP SPREADING THE WORD TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, OTHER BLOGS/FORUMS, ETC</font>!!!

Over 66,000 online votes cast on http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18421356/,
and Ron Paul leads all candidates with 31%. Romney is next at 30%, Giuliani lags behind at 27%. Amazing.

Over 52,000 votes on this poll: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18436681, and Ron Paul is out in front in every favorable category.

I admit, I didn't think Ron Paul's message would resonate so well with the mainstream of this country. I am happy to be so wrong about that!

I like Ron Paul but what do you White Brothers think of Mike Huckabee or Duncan Hunter? I want the man who does the most for White Males.

Huckabee wants Amnesty and Hunter has said he will support Israel on his website and in voting. Such a shame because sounded very presidental and had a strong presence. Then again Ron Paul gave only an average performance and still kicked butt. BTW did Ron look like he was ill, he seemed tired and rushed much of the night.Edited by: Baseball Fan

It may have something to do with the fast talking, caffeine-overdosed moderator rushing all the questions. I suppose it's really hard to try to answer a question knowing you are about to be rudely cut off in mid sentence.
