Peter King wrote a lengthy piece about the playoffs and actually made a pont that Caste Football would agree with. I was going to to cut and paste his comment concerning the awful pass interference calls, then noticed #7.

We had some good all-around offensive performances this weekend besides the QB's, as well as some guys who weren't used much but made some big plays when they were. Here they are.

It is a shame most of these guys were under-utilized for much of the season. Maybe it will be a little better next year.

It is a sad day in American history. As Don pointed out, all the black QB's have bitten the dust and Lovie, Tony and Marvin went down in bitter defeat. Denny has failed miserably, Romeo hasn't done much and Herm has left New York with a dark cloud over his head.  What a way to celebrate Martin Luther King's holiday? Taint fair I tell Ya!

Nick Goings is going to be Carolina's featured runner against Seattle. He's about three-fourths white, the closest thing the NFL has to a white tailback these days. Would be nice if John Fox involves Brad Hoover too.

Three-quarters white? five-eighths? Half and half? When do we have to stop cheering for a player?

well li don't know... in my opinion guys that are viewed as mixed don't go throught the same pains as white guys... they are allowed to play whatever position they feel like etc... Jason Taylor, Rod Woodson and many others... i still like Goings' running style and i prefer him over Foster... and that also means that Hoover will get some carries by default... now if only Gongs goes down Brad might be a starter in the Superbowl

Good question, Ta Waki Mumba. I pull for Goings because he is the closest thing we have. At the same time, I will be pulling for Hoover to get more carries. Maybe he will get 10 or more this week.

One more observation about the Colts and Patriots. Both Brady and Manning had the kitchen sink thrown at them. I swear, in the first half alone Lynch blitzed and came in untouched at least a half dozen times. I saw Dillon offer token resistance. Is Dillon considered a good blocker? He didn't do much this year. Is Edgerrin a good blocker. During the playoffs it would be wiser to get strong blocking white backs on the field. Sure handed tough blocking white tight ends are also valuable in postseason games. Just my two cents.

I had pointed out to some friends after the game, and during the game here on Caste Football, how badly Champ was getting burned by New England's 'pedestrian' receivers. But one INT and a pre-distributed rep gave Baily the game ball. The ESPN radidiots were also singing his praises the day after, and still are, a week after the game.
