At the NAACP meeting, bono, the lead singer of U2, said that God lives in all the poor.
If that is the case, Bono, give me all your money and everything you own (property, future royalties, ect). You can live in the grace of God, while I never have to worry about where my next meal is coming from.
Mr. Bono, you can spend your spare time at AIDs clinics in Africa! They need all the help they can find.
Unless you do the, I suggest you shut the f**k up, you hippocrate.

Indeed! Bono is a sanctimonious, self-important, primadonna hypocrite, just like many of his "celebrity" ilk.

You make great points Screaming Eagle.

I have thought for years now that if Bono was truly sincere, he would give 95% of his fortune, as well as 95% of all future earnings (royalties etc.) to his beloved Africans. Even with just 5% left of his fortune, he could still live quite well.

Better yet, he could like Screaming Eagle suggested, move to Africa and work withthose lovely folks. How about Bill Clinton, "America's First black President" going there as well. MaybeClinton become president of Africa, Bono could be Secretary of state, and Bob Geldof could be in charge of entertainment.

Roundabout, most of the "Africa support" movement is a farce anyways. It's ultimately about enacting neo-Malthusian population reduction. Just look at some of the agenda that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has over there. The Globalist always have a hidden agenda of some sort. In this case, Bono is just their (hypocritical) puppet!

Bono, like all celebrities, is only charitable and concerned for others when the cameras are around. Nothing infuriates me more than watching these rock and pop multi-millionares stand on stage and demand that the unwashed riff-raff who made their fortunes possible give their hard-earned money to whatever charity they are promoting. Meanwhile, these pampered elitists "give" to the cause in question by performing "benefit" concerts and the like, thereby reaping reams of positive public relations from the fawning press. They don't, however, dip into their mammoth bank accounts and give any of their own ill-gotten wealth to these causes. Really, can anything illustrate the decay of our civilization better than three lame, multi-millionare comedians like Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal and Robin Williams hounding the working stiffs to make donations they can't afford, in those odious Comic Relief things? Or sanctimonious swine like Bono (with his absurd, pretencious single name- that says "I am so important that you only need four letters to remember me), helping all those Africans by playing his songs on stage. Yeah, that crappy music of yours really fed a lot of people, you blithering idiot. A lot of subjects tick me off, but just mention celebrities demanding their poor fans give to causes they claim are vital to the future of the world, while giving nothing of their own riches, and you'll really see me rant.

Why would we want to help Africa anyway. Most Africans are muslims who hate America, so why would we want to aid people who most likely would contribute to our destruction (ala support for Al-Queda) If those people can't get their act together, then let Africa sink!

Bigunreal, outstanding commentary...very logicial & well written my friend. You couldn't be more right on the money.

Lance, Amen! Alotta these "turd world" African nations are run by crooked dictators or warlords, etc. The hardcore Rebel part of me says "Screw Africa & the rest of the 2nd rate World!". I've been drifting towards embracing isolationism lately. However, the Christian in me says we shouldn't totally write them off. Be that as it may, our elected officials (Congressmen, Senators & the President) need to put the best interest of Americans as their 1st, 2nd & 3rd priorities and worry about the rest of the world at the bottom of their "to-do" list!

Thanks, Dixie. Remember when Bob Geldof recruited virtually the entire music industry to perform (but not donate money) for Live Aid? Afterwards, it was shown that little or no money from all those donations ever got past the corrupt African officials, and very few "starving children" were ever fed. Still, this doesn't stop idiots like Bono from pontificating from their ivory towers (but not giving any of their money) or evil plutocrats like Bill Gates from trying to attempt to outfit African children with computers. How about giving some to all those American kids whose schools still use ancient Apple computers?

I understand where you're coming from with the Christian part. I'm a Christian too, but I could care less about these people. They're a product of their own evil ways. That is why God has cursed that continent. Plus, most of them are muslims that hate Christians so I have sympathy for those animals like the ones in Somalia that murdered 19 US soldiers for no other reason for they were there to help those people

Irish rock band U2 has transferred part of its multi-million-euro business empire out of Ireland due to changes in tax laws there, a British newspaper has said.

In a report from Dublin, the Daily Telegraph said Tuesday the band had moved part of its publishing company U2 Limited to the same Dutch finance house used by the Rolling Stones because royalties are virtually tax-free in the Netherlands.

There was no immediate comment on the report from U2's British publicists, RMP Management, nor the Irish finance ministry when contacted by AFP.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the band -- whose frontman Bono campaigns against global poverty -- made the move in response to Ireland imposing a 250,000-euro (170,000-pound, 321,000-dollar) cap on tax-free incomes.

The ceiling was announced in the Dublin government's last budget in December 2005, removing the tax exemption on royalties previously in place and from which U2 and other Irish singers and bands benefited in their early years.

U2 were reportedly the world's biggest music earners last year, with an income of about 217 million euros. U2 Limited deals with the band's royalty payments and was based in Dublin, the newspaper said.

Deacon, I don't mind the wealthy keeping their money from the greedy Govt. I DO have a serious issue when those same super-rich want us "lowly peons" to shell out and embrace a collectivist, socialist system. As mentioned by these good folks (above), the self-important "celebrities" don't want to give from their own pocketbooks while chastizing us working-class stiffs to give until it hurts (...as we already HAVE to do with Uncle Scam & this fraudulent banking system)!

The ruler of Gambia has announced that he can cure AIDS. He can only do this on Thursday.
I have no doubt he can do this

So there is no need to send money to Africa. Problem is solved.
