Since 2006 Miami started 4, 4, 2, 4, 2, 4, 5, 3, 4, 4, 3, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, and 4 whites. In 2023, they are projected to start 3.

Highly-touted head coach Mario Cristobal enters his second season hoping to improve on a disappointing 2022 where the team finished 5-7, missing bowl eligibility. He cleaned house on his staff, bringing in Houston's OC Shannon Dawson and Marshall's DC Lance Guidry. Former 2021 "OC of the Year" Josh Gattis leaves after one season with his tail tucked between his legs.

After a 2021 ACC Rookie of the Year campaign, Tyler Van Dyke came back down to earth last season. He missed parts of six games due to injury and was generally unimpressive, stats-wise, when healthy. Previously a four-star recruit, Van Dyke has eligibility this year and next to build up his film reel for a shot at the NFL.

Xavier Restrepo was the team's leading receiver for the first two weeks of 2022 but also saw his season derailed by injury. If he can stay on the field, he can lead this team in yardage. He's sporadically returned both punts and kicks in his career and could provide a highlight there.

Apart from the offensive duo, this team is extremely black. They have a couple handfuls of white players on the roster that don't appear on the current depth chart, who I assume are walk-ons.

Starters:
QB: Tyler Van Dyke
WR/Slot: Xavier Restrepo
C: Matt Lee

Backups:
QB: Emory Williams (3rd string true freshman)
OL: Ryan Rodriguez, Chris Washington
TE: Jackson Carver, Owen Ruskavich

DT: Jacob Lichtenstein
LB: Ryan Ragone
