Back from the dead, UAB has started 5, 3, 5, 5, 5, 6, 2, 7, 8, and 5 white players since 2005 before a two year hiatus. This year they look to have 6 white starters. Now back on the stage again, head coach Bill Clark will guide this program, consisting mostly of JuCo and four year transfers, to a return to Conference USA. UAB will actually start two white WRs this year, something virtually unheard of for a southern school, but the remainder of the lineup will follow standard caste procedure. Collin Lisa was one of the UAB players to return home, beginning his career with the team before the program disbanded and he left for Buffalo; he will be the number one option in the passing game this season. The other WR is Tennessee Tech graduate transfer Brock McCoin, a dynamic option who has seen PT at both WR and QB; he had nearly 1500 receiving yards to his name at Tech, even while playing a good portion of his snaps at QB.

Don't expect this team to win anything big anytime soon, UAB fans should just be glad the program is back and able to field a team in 2017. Their two white WRs will be go-to options so box scores should be monitored, but overall this is still demographically the standard C-USA team. White players are scarce across the roster and mostly regulated to QB and OL.
