Consistently one of the worst adherents of the caste system, Mississippi State has started 1, 2, 2, 3, 5, 5, 2, 2 and 2, and 2 whites since 2006. With the recent years under Dan Mullen, we have come to see the two deep at Mississippi State reflect that of an HBCU. In 2016, they will potentially start their first white QB in what seems (and just may be) a decade. QBs Nick Tiano and Nick Fitzgerald are currently battling a black quarterback for the starting job, and preliminary reports seem to indicate Fitzgerald as the favorite.
Unsurprisingly, MLB Richie Brown, like Cameron Lawrence before him, is the team's sole white scholarship defensive player and yet is the anchor of the defense. The team's leading tackler, Brown should cement himself as an NFL prospect with another dominant year.
Don't expect this team to change its trend anytime soon, with just RT Harrison Moon and QB Nick Tiano as backups on the two-deep.
