Texas will be looking to start one of the worst scholarship QBs ever to come through the program in upside laden Tyrone Swoopes, who was even crap on his HS team. In one of the best examples of the caste system, this bum is now the undisputed starter on one of the most storied programs in college football. The Longhorns are no friend of white players either, although this year, that looks to be bucked in a nice way for one side of the ball. Since 2006, Texas has started 7, 6, 8, 9, 8, 5, 6, and 7 white players. Expect 6 this year. The offense will be trash this year. However, the defense is a bit brighter, surprisingly. SS Dylan Haines, a walk-on who "came out of nowhere" last year to lead the team in interceptions with four, and is now one of their best DBs, despite not having upside or a room-brightening smile we've all known from scouting services. Dalton Santos also looks to finally get his shot to start. The surprise for me right now is Dillon Boldt, the Nickelback. Who'd have thunk Texas would have 2/5 white players in the secondary? That number on defense might be one of the brighter defenses in the Big XII. Beyond the six starters though, it's a complete mess of a team. Backups FB Dominic Cruciani, TE Blake Whiteley, Swing tackle/center Jake Raulerson, NB Tyler Lee, and SS Tyler Marriot.
