The Gobblers have started 5, 5, 4, 5, 6 and 7 Whites since '05. Here are the projected starters for the '11 season. Some White backups include TE Eric Martin, C/RT Michael Via and ILBs Jack Tyler and Chase Williams. Beamer hasn't been a friend to White players, and while this group looks to start more Whites on offense than Blacksburg has seen in many years, the defense is almost a complete blackout.

Offense
FB Joey Phillips
WR Danny Coale
TE Chris Drager
LT Andrew Lanier
LG Greg Nosal
C Andrew Miller
RT Blake DeChristopher

*From Draftdaddy Notice how Beamer gushes over Boykin and the caste speak he has when describing Coale.. :dodgy:

Can a pair of record-breaking Virginia Tech wide receivers -- Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale -- play at the next level?

The 6-foot, 200-pound Coale is much more than just a receiver (he's stepped in at punt returner and punter this year). But he's made his mark as a pass-catcher, ranking second on Tech's all-time lists behind Boykin with 2,541 receiving yards and 157 receptions.
He has 52 catches for a team-high 787 receiving yards this season and could conceivably pass Boykin for the single-season receptions mark with a big Sugar Bowl.
"He’s a guy that has just been productive. He’s in the right place at the right time," Beamer said. "He’s just a guy you feel very confident in and a guy that you know what you’re going to get in him. He’s not an up and down guy. He’s an effort guy. He’s played very consistently. He’s been a great part of our program here and meant a lot to our program at Virginia Tech."

I've never liked Beamer and this description in about what I'd expect from him.
