OkState has a reputation as high scoring offense, but with no defense, which is common in the era of the spread offense. OkState started 5 whites last year, and will start6 whites and 2 Hispanics in 2010.

Offense
QB- Brandon Weeden
FB- Bryant Ward (5'11 223) *Rarely use one
WR- Josh Cooper (5'11 192)
LT- Nick Martinez (6'4 315) *Mexican ancestry
C- Grant Garner (6'3 290)
RT- Levy Adcock (6'6 320)

Defense
DT- Shane Jarka (6'3 295)
OLB- Justin Gent (6'1 236) *White\Mexican mix?

*Caleb Lavey a true freshman could also make a push to start sometime this year at LB.

Celtic, I'm glad you listed the Mexicans in this write-up. Most Mexicans are part white/ part Aztec/ Mayan or other Mexican Indian, but I count a lot of them as white as far as being underdogs due to the caste system.

I usually consider people as Caucasians if they are 3/4 white or more and the other quarter isn't black, Aboriginal or South Pacific Islander. In the last three cases, I would only count them as white if that admixture was 1/8 or less. Hawaiians though, are closer related to Euros than other Polynesians genetically and closer related to us than Indonesians and New Guineans etc.

Back to Mexicans, there is also a small amount of black slave ancestry in some Mexicans, but there is probably not a much higher percentage of black blood in Mexicans than the case with some people in Sicily, Portugal or Spain from the Moorish conquests. The Moors were usually mostly Arab with some black African or Berber admixture due to all the race mixing in that time period during the conquests through north Africa and onto the Iberian Peninsula.

This team is pro-caste, but still much better than a lot of the pathetic teams in the BCS. There will probably be times this college football season where an Oklahoma State game is the best option for me to watch.

Yeah I figured I'd count Mexicans, not many play FBS footballand they aren't overrepresented like blacks. I won't count them as white unless they look spanish or consider themselves it, but I'll make a seperate category for them. Yeah the Big 12 South is pretty dissapointing in regards to playing whites. Hopefully the Big 12 North can make some noise this year with teams like Kansas and Nebraska.

I hope the Big 12 North teams will dominate this year. All of them should start around half white teams. Their Southern Counterparts are a different story, however.

Yeah good luck to Nebraska and Kansas! Rex Burkhead and Brandon Bourbon should both play a lot this year. Burkhead should get 1/3 to 1/2 of the carries as the 2nd back- and Bourbon might even start because Toben Opurum is probably more of a 2nd string powerback/H-back etc.

I'm liking what Turner Gill is doing so far with his recruiting and decisions since taking over. Hopefully he'll continue to attempt to be fair in this whiterivals age. He recruited a 2nd white RB, but I would have been MUCH more happy if it was Nile Knapp than the 2nd guy they ended up signing.

I think if Turner Gill watched Jwall's highlight vid of Knapp he would have offered, but I don't know if Knapp would have accepted due to family concerns. Reading his dad's posts on Youtube and in the Hawkeye forum- his dad said it was either an Iowa scholarship (which was near where he had other family living) or a small school near his parents or his grandfather who is ill.

I found an interesting article on a play named Alex Elkins. He's extremely athletic and runs a 4.47 40.

<h2 ="title" property="dc:title">New Oklahoma State recruit never played high school football</h2> By Cameron Smith</span></span>

On Wednesday, The Oklahoman reported that Oklahoma
State landed a commitment from a fast-rising linebacker in Texas. That
hardly seems out of the ordinary, yet Alex Elkins is one of the most
unique recruits among major national recruiting classes for one reason: He never played high school football.

ept_sports_prep_rally-754716748-1286467614.jpgymeQ44DDkKGrd0gP
Elkins
is a sophomore at Blinn Junior College in Brenham, Texas, one of the
nation's premier junior college programs which routinely sends top
players to Division I schools across the country. By those standards
Elkins' commitment is nothing out of the ordinary. Yet his lack of
football past sends Elkins' story far from the everyday. Unlike most
Blinn players, who arrive on campus after heralded high school careers,
Elkins had never played a day of organized football before he arrived on
the East Texas campus.

A high school baseball star in Georgia
before a senior transfer to Keller (Texas) High, Elkins was on track for
a collegiate scholarship before a broken hand ended his high school
career. According to the Brenham Banner-Press, Elkins was on vacation in
Panama City Texas the following summer when his mother told him about a football combine being held at Blinn,
where prospective athletes were competing for a football scholarship.
With no firm collegiate plans and plenty of competitive drive yet to
tap, Elkins showed up in Brenham for the combine, and later landed a
scholarship after standing out among some 200 other athletes who actually had played football in high school.

"There
were a lot of talented athletes there and I was like ‘What did I get
myself into?'" Elkins told the Banner-Press. "I showed them what I was
capable of and earned the spot."

A year and a half later, Elkins
is aiming for 80 tackles and eight sacks against the best competition in
the junior college ranks. The sophomore relies on his athleticism -- he
stands 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds and runs a 4.47 second 40-yard dash --
and a brief stint on Keller High's rugby team to help compensate for his
lack of experience. <a name="remaining-"></a>

"Every time I
go onto the field I want to make the play," Elkins told the Brenham
Banner-Press. "I critique myself in practice to make myself better. I
learn by reps and I don't take any steps back.

"I talked to the
2009 linebacker coach and he asked me what position I played. I told him
quarterback because I was a pitcher. He said Blinn already had a
quarterback, so what other position was I trying out for, and I told him
that I never played football before. He said ‘why don't you try the
linebacker position?' and the position worked for me."

While
Elkins is still learning on the fly, his junior college coach said he
has little doubt that the linebacker will be a success at the next
level, just as he's been at Blinn.

"He's only played 17 [games of]
football and for him to get the attention and recruiting he's gotten
says a lot," The Oklahoman reported that Blinn head coach Brad
Franchione told Oklahoma State web site GoPokes.com. "The best football
for him is in front of him. He's learning the game and as he learns the
game, he's going to continue to play faster and faster."

I saw this link and read it. Turns out they even let black women play cornerback, but not white guys? Unbelievable.

More PC run amok. "Jaline DeJesus" gets called up from the Jr. varsity after all the varsity affaletes got suspended for a brawl, and she plays in the final minute of the game. Lookout NFL!

A small update for the Cowboy's starters, I think Bo Bowling has come back to the team to start at one of the WR positions.
