Da'Quan Bowers, rated as the #1 DE for '08 (by WhiteRivals), hasn't lived up to all the hype yet... this is a make or break season for him.

Some tackles, yes, but why only 4 sacks? White DEs are often known for racking up tackles, so no one can claim that a White DE couldn't put up those numbers in the ACC. As for sacks, a White DE could definitely get more than 4 sacks in a 2-year period.
Bowers played a lot as a true freshman, and I think he may have even been the starter. I think I know why many of these guys are majorly overrated... They play high school ball in their podunk leagues, where they aren't facing
badass o-linemen every week. There are so many little towns and everyone, White or black, "isn't huge."
I can understand there being a "transition" from high school to the ACC/SEC, but you know what, the Caste Media doesn't tell us the truth about that. Instead, these guys are proclaimed as "instant stars" -- and I will always rebel against that kind of BS!!
