New York Knicks- The Knicks look to have three white players on their roster for the 2010-2011 NBA season. The very talented David Lee is gone and will now be playing for the Golden State Warriors. That leaves the Knicks with Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, and Andy Rautins as the lone white men on the team.

Gallinari is a talented small forward from Italy and the only white starter. Last season was a breakout year for him and Gallo averaged over 15ppg. He's still a bit raw in only his third season in the league, but he should be even better this year. If he can get his jump shot to be a bit more consistent he has a chance at being an All-Star this year.

Andy Rautins will be the backup shooting guard for the team. He's the 39th overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft but he probably won't see much playing time in his first year with the team. Rautins has decent athleticism for the position despite what the media would have you believe. Mike D'Antoni will use him mostly as a spot up shooter.

The last white player on the Knicks roster is Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov has incredible size at 7'1 and 270lbs. He'll be the backup to Ronny Turiaf but don't be surprised if he becomes the starter by mid season. He's already 24 years old and has played professionally in Russia for several seasons so he's more seasoned than the average rookie.

Grade D-

New Jersey Nets
New Jersey used to be my favorite team during the late 90's and early 2000's. They had several very talented white players in Nenad Kristic an Keith Van Horn. The latest version of the Nets look to have one white player on the entire roster.

The starting power forward this season will be Troy Murphy who was obtained from the Indiana Pacers. Murphy is actually a local product and played his high school ball here in Jersey. He's known for his toughness and above average rebounding ability. Look for him to average around 12-14 ppg this season.

Grade F

Philadelphia 76'ers

The 76'ers have usually been among the darkest teams in the league but this year is slightly better. They have a total of four white players on their roster.

Andres Nocioni is a backup small forward . Nocioni is a very athletic player from Agrentina who spent most of his career with the Chicago Bulls. Andres is currently listed as second on the depth chart behind the over rated Thaddeus Young. Nocioni should be able to over take him in the near future and become a starter for the team.

The third small forward on the roster is Jason Kapono. Kapono is a solid backup and has almost unlimited range. His shot is among the best in the league and he's mainly a three point specialist. Hopefully he'll see significant minutes like he did in Toronto and Miami.

Darius Songalia will be the back up power forward. Songalia is a decent athlete whose shown he can be effective in the right system. His best year was the 2005-2006 season as a member of the Chicago Bulls. Look for him to average around 5ppg and 6 rebounds per game in about 20 minutes per contest.

The starting center will be Spencer Hawes. Hawes is now in his third season andplayed very well for the Sacremento Kings. Last season he averaged almost 10 points per game and 7 rebounds per game in 27 minutes per contest. He could have a breakout year if Doug Collins utilizes him correctly.

Grade D

Boston Celtics.

The latest version of the Celtics is nothing short of despicable. They look to have a whopping two white players on the roster. It's a shame because the Celtics were once a real dynasty white legends such as Larry Bird and Kevin McHale. Times sure have changed.

Luke Harongody will be the back up power forward. Harongody is a rookie out of Notre Dame and has an impressive offensive skill set. He looks to be buried on the depth chart behind Kevin Garnett and obese Glen Davis. He may see some minutes this year but right now he's in a bad situation.

The only other white player on the roster is Turkish player Semih Erden. He's a 24 year old center who has great size and athleticism. Erden is also buried on the depth chart at this point but may get some minutes this year.

Grade F

The Raptors are about average in terms of white starters on their roster with four. They will be the rare team this year that starts three white players.

The starting center is Andrea Bargnani. Bargnani can do it all. He can block shots, rebound, and score on any center in the league. Last year he averaged 17 ppg and this year he'll be looking to make his first All-Star appearance. The sky is the limit for the talented Italian.

Backing up Bargnani is Australian David Anderson. Anderson was a solid backup in his rookie season for the Houston Rockets and he looks to the same here. He should get around 15 minutes per game.

The starting small forward will be Linas Kleiza. Kleiza is a Lithuanian who spent his first four seasons playing for the Denver Nuggets. He's finally been given the chance to be a full time starter and he should be good for around 12 points per contest.

Jose Calderon will start at the point for Toronto. Calderon is now entering his 6th season and has proven to be one of the better point guards in the league. He has excellent ball handling skills and a Nash like vision on the court. If he improves his scoring a bit an All-Star appearance is not out of the question.

Great write ups WA33. As a Knicks and occasional Nets observer myself it is good to see them both with some good White talent.
I wanted to make one correction. The Nets cut Zoubek!

He had back problems but they could have kept him as the 15th man to develop but instead went with old geezer Joe Smith and the immortal Johan Petro. Only in the NBA would a rebuilding team like the Nets keep Smith over a young big man with potential on the defensive end.

Thanks. All the depth charts I checked had Zoubek still on them.

Thanks. I'll edit the Nets. We discussed the Lopez brothers on here before and I believe we mentioned they were hispanic so I decided to count them. I was always under the impression Humphries was white.
