Well this is certainly some good news!

One hopes that last years horrible draft was just a one time occurence.

It would be nice if we could get a Matt Jone type player coming up every year to help break the Caste System

The good news is a lot of these white guys have a lot of eyes watching them which is often why a lot of good white talent slips through, nobody cares of pays attention to them... Hopefully all of these guys have good years plus we can get a few surprise white players to jump into the mix. Notre Dame can go a LONG way is helping break the system in the next few years... and it starts this year with Quinn/Samardzija/Zbikowski..

We had Jones in '05, and now Leonard and hopefully Samardzija in '07, and possibly Todd Blythe and Kyle Bell in '08, but it's too early to know how high any of them will go. Unfortunately, the 2006 NFL draft has been the norm for quite a few years now. Even if the number of whites in the first round in '07 increases to a whopping 10 or so (whoopee nearly 30%), until the recruiting patterns among the big programs change it won't have any noticeable effect on the Caste NFL. Though players like Jones, Drew Bennett and Kevin Curtis breaking through with monster years would help. But then again, how much respect did Bennett get after coming very close to leading the AFC in receiving in 2004? The media has done such a complete job in instilling the stereotypes in the popular mind that I-A and the NFL can practice massive and open discrimination with impunity.Edited by: Don Wassall
