The latest issue of the Sporting News has a section remembering prominent sports figures who passed in 2008. One of them is Don Haskins, the coach of the 1966 UTEP team that was the first team to win the college basketball national championship with an all black starting lineup. The sub-title for the story about Haskins is "Ushered in full integration of college basketball."
Interesting choice of words, a great illustration of Orwellian doublethink. When something is all white it's "segregated" and denounced as inherently evil. When something is all black it's called "full integration" and extolled as a wonderful accomplishment.
A similar doublethink word of long standing is "equality," which means anything but when it comes to race.
