I once pulled one of my biceps while lifting weights and believe me, it hurt and I can't imagine fighting with a complete tear of my biceps like Briggs. No wonder he wasn't able to get his punches off. Had he been able to fight with two good arms, I have no doubts that he would have made mincemeat of Vitali's face and torn up his tender skin around his eyes. That skin was just begging to be torn up by Briggs,

I found out a few thing lastnight, one, as Vitali was giving Briggs
a beatdown, the servers on most of the boxing forums were overloaded,
so much for HBO saying the heavyweights division and the Klitschko's are not popular, also, Briggs said Vitali was the best fighter he ever fought, and he hit harder than Foreman, but no boxing writer that i can find are makeing any comment about that today, it's all about how great Lewis was because he ko;d Briggs back ten or more years ago.and Vitali didn't..

Vitali is amazingly energy efficient.  I believe I only saw him miss one single right all night long.  I watched as he was about to throw one, and then at the last split second he stopped because he calculated it would likely miss, instead of throwing it and missing and wasting energy like anyone else would have done.

Thank you all for your concern. I came to the hospital saturday night
strictly as a precautionary measure, and after several tests the Dr.'s
concluded that there were no severe head injuries. I am staying in the
hospital to further examine an injury to my left bicep that I suffered
in the first round. Unfortunately, the injury kept me from fully
executing my fight plan. Not to take anything away from a brilliant
performance by Vitali Klitchko Saturday night, had I had not injured my
arm early on, who knows how the fight would have concluded. We are
grateful to the fine doctors and people of Hamburg for the excellent
care and support they've given me thus far, and as a life long asthmatic
sufferer I'm truly grateful to Dr. Charles Hensley and his
homeopathic formulation Zivair that helped make it possible to go 12
rounds and compete for the WBC title. As witnessed Saturday night and
throughout my career, I never gave in even when my breathing was out of
order or any injury kept me from being 100%. Despite prior reports,
throughout the contest my trainer Herman Caicedo wanted to stop the
fight, but I made it clear that stopping the fight was not an option.
Thank you for all of your support and hopefully I showed you the heart
of a lion and the perseverance of a champion.

I think it's very likely they are written by the same person. How do you know that this is the owner of eastside though? Are boxingnews24 and eastside linked in some way?

He seems to have picked Kevin Johnson to dominate Vitali too, goin by a couple of comments on his articles. I wonder how long this guy has been writing these silly, hate-filled articles. What a pathetic little man. I bet it tears him up every time that K2 win. Talk about being bitter.

Edit: Having checked the boxingnews24 website, it seems like they just
write controversial articles for a reaction and more hits. The writers
completely contradict themselves time and time again. It's ridiculous! They
are the boxing website equivalent of a forum troll. They're not even worth talking or
typing about. A joke website.

I just re-watched the fight on youtube. The 10th and 12th rounds, in particular, were some of the most violent punches I've ever seen a boxer withstand without dropping. His power, speed, chin, athleticism and will"¦coupled with his intangibles have formed the most dominant boxer in the history of planet earth. He would certainly defeat his brother, and all others, from all other generations and weigh classes.

It was very kind when Vitali was talking to Briggs' wife (who appears to be a black/asian mix) and said "you have a good man, big, strong,"Â￾ etc. I thought Briggs' speech after the fight couldn't have been more respectful. Edited by: Thrashen

I watched the replay of the fight and enjoyed seeing Vitali take apart Briggs. I was impressed that Briggs kept his feet after the onslaught in the late rounds. I do find it predictably pathetic that Briggs is finding a way to excuse the beating he took and in effect take away from Vitali's skill and talent. I hate to see White men never getting the respect they deserve.

Scott Gilfoid, Chris Williams and Dave Lahr are the same person. His real name is David Rosenberg, the owner of eastsideboxing.

Why didn't you guys use ESPN3.com? The fight was streamed live without the need to download anything. They also showed the fight sunday afternoon with a Lucian Bute fight as well.

Been watching past fights of the K brothers, and realized something important. When an affelete gets in the ring and experiences the movement and atheletism of a white man at 607 and approx 240 lbs they freak out and realize it is futile to win even one round against these marvels.

WBC Heavyweight Champion Vitali Klitschko gives WBA heavyweight titlist
David Haye of Britain a six-month period to decide if he will fight
'Dr. Ironfist,' BoxingScene.com website reported.


"I think in the next six months, we should at least get a response
from Haye. I'm not going to wait a year or two," Klitschko (41-2, 38
KOs) said.


The 39-year-old Ukrainian boxer said the Klitschko brothers want to
hold all heavyweight division belts and Haye is standing in their way as
he holds the only one world title the brothers do not have.


"I definitely want David Haye, and only because he has the only world
championship belt which is not owned by the Klitschko family. We own
almost all of the belts and there is only one remaining," Klitschko was
quoted as saying.


Vitali's younger brother Wladimir (55-3, 49 KOs) is currently the holder of the IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight belts


'Dr. Ironfist,' who defended his title last Saturday in Germany's
Hamburg against Shannon Briggs of the United States (51-6, 45 KOs), said
if Haye declines to fight him again, he must officially say that he is
"afraid of the Klitschko brothers."


Last year, Haye (24-1, 22 KOs) scheduled a bout against Wladimir and
later against Vitali but for various reasons withdrew from both fights.


Meanwhile, the British champion says he will eventually get both of the Klitschkos, but will only fight them when "he is ready."


'The Hayemaker,' who has surprised boxing fans by repeatedly
insulting the Klitschko brothers over the past three years, also said
that Vitali's recent brutal beating of Briggs did not impress him at
all.


After Saturday's 12-round bout Briggs was hospitalized with facial fractures, a bicep injury and a busted ear.


Haye is scheduled to fight his fellow countryman Audley Harrison
(27-4, 20 KOs) on November 13 at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester.

Speaking of 5 belts, when is all this boxing promotion splitting going to end? Will there eventually be 10 belts? I sure hope not. I'd like to see some of these organizations fall apart, but I guess that is wishful thinking.

Boxing has about ten sanctioning world belts. Only 4 are seen as major belts. The two newer major organizations took a few years before they were viewed as truly world class. The IBF became big because Larry Holmes, Marvin Hagler and other American stars embraced that belt. The WBO became a major belt because the best European fighters from the 90's such as Calzaghe, Hamed and Darius M. defended their straps for years.

It is becoming common knowledge that the Ring Magazine's belt is recognized as the legitimate champion of all respective weight classes which is a good thing.
