So Cal
The Dutch Goalie stepped up. Congrats. Not digging the huge amount of african subs on the bench for the Dutch. I would have been cool with Costa Rica advancing tho.

Whew! Too close for comfort! But now we have 3/4 of teams that we can root for, the WC is looking good as long as Brazil don't win.

Germany only have 3 Third Worlders in the whole squad, the Dutch have loads. I'm hoping Germany v Holland in the final with the Germans winning with Oezil sent off in the semi-final and Khedira and Boateng injured against the Brazilians...

I'd actually quite like Brazil to advance to the final and be dismembered by Argentina in the 'Maracanazo part II'.

Idk good for the Dutch keeper but both shots he blocked were obvious. Both were to the lower right corner. C'mon costa Rica get creative. Either way took what 2 hours to score? That is why soccer will never be big in USA. Heck half the people here can't go 15mins without being entertained by phones,tv,etc.

If Jogi Low did the right thing and started 11 natives as he should, we wouldn't be having this conversation. He'll stick to his quotas and the 3-fake Germans, but still they are clearly to team to root for against Brazil.

Yes, Germany vs Argentina in a rematch of the 1990 final would be great. Right now, Argentina is my pick by a small margin to win it all. I believe the 4 best teams in the tournament have made the semi-finals, with very few negroes in the mix.

That's my line of thinking. As I've said, the Dutch subs would be mostly white if Strootman and Van der Vaart didn't get hurt. Even if the Germans start with three non-whites Ozil and/or Khedira are usually subbed off. I'll be wanting Argentina to beat the Dutch, but it won't be disastrous if the Netherlands win.

Also, a look at the Dutch and German U 21 teams say different stories about the direction of the two teams as well.

In their last matches, the Netherland's U21 team started: 4 whites, 1 Arab, and 5 blacks.

Germany's U21 started: 9 whites, 1 black and 1 Turk.

Here are the breakdowns of the rosters: Out of 18 listed players, Germany had 3 non-whites total, so right where they are right now.

With 23 players, the "Dutch" had 11-12 non-whites.

about brazil's last game:

"The key statistic is 41:07 – that’s the ‘ball-in-play’ time. From 96 minutes of play, well under half that time was actually spent playing football, such was the extent of this stop-start battle, based around set-pieces. For purposes of comparison, that’s around 10 minutes less than for the Germany v France game earlier in the day, and it was extremely noticeable. Some free-kicks in shooting positions took over two minutes to take, and there were 54 fouls in the match."

http://www.zonalmarking.net/2014/07/05/brazil-2-1-colombia-brazil-prevail-in-a-very-aggressive-game/

brazil did a lot of time wasting, and every time colombia was trying to get forward there was a foul
incredible that the referee didn't give more yellow cards

The star for Netherlands yesterday was without a doubt 'The Flying Dutchman',Arjen Robben. The Costa Ricans tried to make to capitalize on his reputation on diving, and boy did it backfire:

Robben won eight freekicks, all in dangerous positions.

And this has to be the 'touch' of the tournament:
