Hudetz is a well-rounded, productive back at the high school level. Lacks great height but is very well-built, compact and put together. Hits the hole fast and can quickly slice through the 1st level of a defense. Displays good in-line foot-speed darting through traffic. Runs with adequate lean and a low center of gravity. Shows good balance and body control sliding through the small run creases just as they open. Sharply hits the cutback without losing much in transition. Can run with good in-line strength and pickup the tough yards when needed. Deceptively has a strong, sturdy body. Polished hands and receiving skills out of the backfield. Good initial acceleration allows him to quickly create separation on linebackers. While he shows a sneaky extra gear, he lacks great burst and acceleration for a smaller back. Displays good straight-line speed in the second not great, appears quicker than fast with his shorter stride. Doesn't create a lot yards on his own and might struggle producing good YAC at the D-I level with his size; durability is a concern as well. Lacks the lateral quickness and suddenness to project well as a zone runner.
Bottom line, Hudetz is a bit of an over-achiever and might have trouble masking his marginal size and speed measurable at the next level. Could develop into a change of pace runner or add depth on special teams.
