here are the notable white eskimos:

WR T.J. Acree(BYU/Boise State?): T.J. is really coming into his own this year, his first with edmonton. He is becoming one of the most trusted receiver of QB Ricky Ray. He's got good feel for the position and runs good routes. Strong, relible hands are his forte.

FB Mathieu Bertrand(Laval): Sweet spot in my heart for Mathieu, him being from ULaval and all. He is one of the most feared STeamers in the league. He happens to be the starting FB, but FB are worthless in the CFL. He sees about 10 snap per game on offense. Former QB with the Laval Rouge & Or won 2 national championship and was a Hec Crighton finalist his senior season. Was drafted in the 5th round by the alouettes as a QB, but was released at the end of TC. Signed with the Esks a year later and switched to FB. Canucks can't play QB. Thats kind of a rule. I've seen the man in person, he can throw the ball 80 yards, is big, and mobile enough.

DE Adam Braidwood(Washington State): '06 First overall pick. A 6'4 270 monster. A badass who is also into ultimate fighting. Former All-Pac 10 freshman. Another rising star.

LB A.J. Gass(Fresno State): 10-year veteran. Vocal and emotional leader of the defense. Plays with wreckless abandon. Insert tough white linebacker adjective here.
2-time 1st Tm All-WAC. Won the grey cup twice. He is a must see for fans of smashmouth football.

QB Ricky Ray(Sacramento State); '06 CFL leading passer
entering his 5th year. Already won 2 grey cup. was grey cup MVP in '05. All-CFL in '06. As all the tools. Great accuracy.

other white Eskies:
OL Tim Bakker(Western Ontario),LB Agustin Barrenechea(Calgary) (Former Hamilton starter),LB Michael Botterill(McMaster), OL Aaron Fiaconni(Mansfield), K/P Sean Fleming(Wyoming), QB Stefan Lefors(Louisville)(former panthers 4th rounder, great athlete), FB Mike Maurer(Regina),OL Joe McGrath(Miami),OL Rhett McLane(Saskatchewan),WR Andrew Nowacki(Murray State), WR J.F. Romeo(Laval),WR Pat Woodcock(Syracuse)(one-time All-East selection, Canadian MVP of the '02 grey)Edited by: Gi-15

DELTA STATE'S EYSTER SIGNS WITH ESKIMOS OF CFL

CLEVELAND - Former Delta State University All-American quarterback Scott Eyster signed a two-year contract with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League on Sunday. Official terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Eyster passed his team physical on Monday and will begin practicing with the team on Monday afternoon. He will back up former Louisville Cardinal Stefan LeFors for the Eskimos.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Hammond, La., native, guided the Statesmen to the 2006 NCAA DII semifinals and a 12-3 finish on the season. For his efforts, he was named the GSC Offensive Player of the Year for a second-straight season.

Along the way, Eyster established himself as the greatest quarterback in the history of the GSC. The strong-armed signal-caller established new conference records for career passing (13,889), total offense (14,342), pass attempts (1644) and touchdowns responsible for (128). Eyster finished his career ranking second all-time in NCAA Division II history in passing yards, touchdowns (116) and total offense.

2006 proved to be the best year statistically for Eyster in his celebrated career. In 15 games, Eyster completed 298-of-489 passes for 3,926 yards with 36 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He shattered his own single-season records for completions, touchdown passes, pass attempts and yards.
