    2021 NFL Week 6

Great receivers have a way of being "left wide open." The highlights of Steve Largent often show him wide open behind everybody catching a TD pass.

    Christian McCaffrey

Christian McCaffrey has now lost due to injury two prime years, what may have been the two best years he would have had. Any RB has to be lucky regarding injury. McCaffrey was not lucky.

    MLB 2021 Season

I didn't follow the 2021 season either but it would seem the talent is not exactly spread out.

    2021 NFL week 4

Thanks. I couldn't agree more. A couple of years ago I started a thread celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ingemar Johanssen knocking out Floyd Patterson to win the Heavyweight Championship in 1959. Whereupon somebody made repeated posts claiming Henry Cooper "beat" Cassius Clay and was...

    Joe Biden's America

This was at Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, Tennessee. I wrote many years ago that Tennessee's DWFs rate with anybody's. But Tennessee was a state Trump won by a landslide and the people attending a University of Tennessee football game are going to be Trump voters. For that matter, they were Bush...

    2021 NFL Week One

I've written here before that McCaffrey was primed to succeed because his parentage brought him attention, plus playing at Stanford.

    2021 NFL Week One

There has never been anything in sports like Tom Brady playing at peak level at age 44. Or last year at 43.

    Rest In Peace Bill Freehan

Bill Freehan made what is considered the pivotal play of the 1968 Tiger-Cardinal World Series. In the fifth game, with the Cardinals leading the Series at 3-1 and 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Freehan tagged out Lou Brock at home plate. Brock came in standing up and Freehan blocked the plate. The...

Joe Biden Administration and Afghanistan: A Humiliating End to the War

Yes, TPTB hope to use it as an excuse to bring as much of the Afghan population here as they can.

    2021 Olympics

As I wrote a few days ago, the networks loved the Olympics because they drew high ratings. If this is no longer the case, along with the problems hosting them, they will fade away. Due to what they have become, good riddance.

    2021 Olympics

The reason the networks have loved the Olympics since TV existed has been the high ratings the Olympic Games had always drawn, especially in the USA. If that part has ended, another problem is the hard time finding a place that can afford to hold them. The Olympic Games may fade away.

    Chicago Bears General Thread

We've noted for a long time that white athletes are oblivious to their situation regarding the NFL. They will sign with a team that offers more money instead of a team offering a better chance of playing, which in the long run would bring more money.

    2021 PGA Championship

I remember when Jack Nicklaus won at Augusta in 1986, age 46. The previous oldest to win a Major was Julius Boros in the 1968 PGA, age 48. Phil Mickelson is a few weeks short of 51 as he won the PGA today. It's one of the greatest wins in sports history!

    2021 NFL Draft

Gambling has always been the (mostly) unacknowledged booster for pro football. The League has always demanded players stay away from gamblers and pro forma disapproved of betting. However, they played along with it. In the 1970s they put Jimmy the Greek on the CBS pre-game show in which he would...

Examples of Majority White Teams Winning State Championships

    Colorado Shooting

The shooter (don't use his name, that's what he wants) according to his social media was a Trump-hating, white-hating immigrant. I've read two of the Atlanta shooting victims were white.

    Miscellaneous

When Stalin stood up to begin a speech, everybody would applaud on and on. They were all afraid to be the first to stop clapping. So they would ring a bell that signaled the audience could stop clapping so Stalin could begin his speech. I think you can find it (Google Stalin speech buzzer) on...

    Marvin Hagler Dies

I thought Marvin Hagler's best moment was the Hearns fight. I remember his first title fight in November 1979 against then Middleweight Champion Vito Antuofermo on ABC prime time. Hagler was heavily favored, but Antuofermo rallied for a draw, retaining the title. Vito lost his next defense in a...

    Tiger Woods

As a trial junkie, I've seen for years how "poor" street criminals get lenient treatment in the criminal justice system until they kill somebody. And there's nothing a politically ambitious U.S. attorney likes better than a Great White Defendant.

    NFL News, Rumors and Musings

Examples of Majority White Teams Winning State Championships

"Slipped through the cracks" is a catch-all expression. Jordy Nelson was a walk-on at Kansas State after excelling in high school. Nelson per Wiki, aside from starring in high school football, won the Kansas High School track championships in the 100 meter, 200 meter, and 400 meter. If that...
