Meanwhile Anihoa Reparaz of Spain, set a Championship Record in the girls 100m, with a time of 11.53. Her previous best time was 11.89! She is definitely one to watch. https://fb.watch/e3uxIUPbt_/ (I probably should have posted these results in the high school thread. Will do so going forward.)

16 yr old Marek Zakrzeweski of Poland was the fastest qualifier at the European U18 Championships today. His time was 10.29 with a wind of 2.2. That's a great time for a 16 yr old regardless of the wind. The next fastest time in the heats was 10.44 with 0.7 wind. Tomorrow evening are the semis...

Apparently the British Athletics federation (or whatever it's called) does not accept marks from Chaux-de-Fonds as standards for making their national teams. That pretty much tells you that times from this meet are expected to be much better than they would be anywhere else.

You're right WL! And Julian Wagner would have run sub-10 at this meet if he was there. Although I object to these 'enhanced' times, I still would like to see another sub-10 on the books regardless.

The altitude is 992 meters, which I believe is 8 meters below the legal altitude limit. But it's still at a high altitude. Look through the results, everyone (more than half of the runners) are setting PBs or SBs. It's ridiculous. Look at Rowan Browning for example. Since he arrived in...

The times at this meet are bogus. It's only worth looking at where they finished relative to others in the race, and who those others were.

Puripol Boonson of Thailand set a new National record in the 200m, with a time of 20.19 (1.7w). What is even more remarkable, is that he is only 16yrs old! Apparently only Usain Bolt has run faster as a 16yr old. https://www.pinoyathletics.info/puripol-boonson/

Charlie Dobson and Amy Hunt are both injured. Otherwise I am sure they would have both been UK National Champions in the 200m. I don't know what Dobson's injury is, but Hunt tore a quad muscle and had to have surgery to repair it. Both these youngsters are very talented - basically the British...

Boling is entered in the 200m and the Long Jump at the US Nationals this weekend. Unfortunately for Boling, the men's 200m is a super strong event right now in the US. He may have a better chance of making the team in the Long Jump.
