I saw the 2nd half. The American who fouled Grealish at the end needlessly giving away a free kick that was almost converted should be benched for the next match. Southgate is such a negative manager. Why bring on Henderson instead of a forward? The English should be confidently dominating this group instead they are trying to squeeze through on points.

Since I've paid attention, really good numbers for England.

I don't care how many whites play if they all take the knee for BLM. One of them was still down on his knee a few seconds after the match started. Almost comically the mostly black American team did not take the knee. I was also glad to see the Welsh lose due to their homosexual virtue-signalling. Better Iran than Wales.

Fair enough Mantra! Don't care much for soccer so really don't have a dog in this fight. The kneeling is pathetic but the number of overachievers for England is still a positive, even if they kneel not for God.

I think the best part of the kneeling is seeing all of these places that actually ended slavery apologize for it. It’s such a lack of understanding of history it’s pathetic.

I have no English heritage, but even I know that the English helped bring about the end of an institution that had existing for millennia.

It’s just incredible how little people realize about that and how easily they are duped into thinking the opposite.

I guess it goes to show that propaganda is a very effective tool

Yes. We used to have a French poster here that documented how young players are systematically discriminated against. If you go digging through the soccer subsection, you can probably find some excellent information.

The best example I can remember is that even Griezmann, who is arguably the best French player, was not wanted amongst the youth teams. He was labeled too small, as the French system love those early maturing large black players who litter the national team and French league. So Griezmann had to move to Spain as a teen and developed into the star he is now. If he stayed in France, he probably be waiting tables at a brassiere right now.
I will have to look through past post for this thanks Freethinker

Why does nobody like Benzema. I want to see our guys do good, but I am pulling for the Danes sorry Clement

i don't care about the french team, just want giroud to score, so maybe denmark can win something like 3-1 with a goal by giroud

nobody likes benzema because he's actually the worst striker in the history of the french national team with 1222 minutes in a row without a goal
and because he was the only arab player to play in a big club he had to play for political reasons (at the time there were big problems with muslim terrorists in france too so the politics wanted to show an arab player playing for the french national team)
as a result of this france had its longest goal-less streak ever and france only scored again after he was substituted

he also said that algeria was his real country and he only played for france internationally because the team is better

and he is overall dumb, pretentious, unlikeable

Since England, Wales and US are all nauseating, virtue signalers, who do you “root” for out of that bunch? Coming into the tourney, I was going to pull for Wales but they really love man-on-man anal sex, huh? Guess there’s no good choice here.

England struggling against the US, they should be embarrassed. Imagine not building your team around Phil Foden!
It is bizarre. What does Southgate have against Foden that he would bury him on the bench?

I guess the answer is no one. Don't root for any of them. I suppose there's an outside chance that England could win the tournament, as they could pick up momentum as it goes on, whereas neither the US nor Wales have a chance, so far our purposes better for England to be eliminated at the group stage. I think Wales are going out anyway. I watched the highlights against Iran and at the end they looked like a defeated demoralized team. Now they've got to beat England to stay in the tournament.

I just put on the Poland v Saudi match. It is 2-0 Poland.

He broke coronavirus protocol on international duty, but that was two years ago. He has been known to like a drink and a late night.

But, main reason is he hasn't got a real run with England and Southgate is a very cautious, unimaginative manager.

The other problem is, if he played Foden and Grealish that would leave them with not enough blacks and that's something Southgate would be very conscious of.

former PSG player lugano on french players being relieved benzema can't play at the world cup:

However former Uruguay captain Diego Lugano believes it might actually help the French side in terms of group atmosphere in a famously tense dressing room.

“I am certain, because I was a teammate with some of them, (there are players from France) who are very happy with the departure of Benzema.”

benzema didn't say anything about france's win against australia, no congratulations on social media: https://le10sport.com/football/equi...revelations-hallucinantes-sont-lachees-623175

I've always disliked Klinsmann but this is funny:

"This is their culture"

I expect he'll be making an apology any moment or maybe fired by the BBC.
The fact that he had so much to do with the darkening of us soccer makes what will follow all the more funny.

Ironically all he said was that the culture of Iran (who I would consider white anyway) football is to play physically and take you out of your game.

Cancel him all you like and cue the carnival music.

This Belgian team, which is whiter than it's been in previous tournaments, looks very overrated to me. They were lucky against Canada and right now they are 0-0 with Morocco in the 2nd half - Morocco had a goal disallowed for offside and almost scored as I type this. Lukaku is injured but has been warming up so he'll probably play at some time in the tournament.

Most football people know they had little chance. They missed their chance four years ago.

Hazard is finished a top level player. Alderweireld and Vertonghen on the downside of very solid careers.

Kevin De is world class, but he has too much to carry. Mertens still has has in his tank and should be starting alongside Trossard who has been great in English premier League last couple years.

Croatia goal ruled offside. This is a good team, but getting on in years. Need to control pace of game. Conceding an early goal plays perfect into Nigeria game plan ... Sorry, "Canada". My mistake !
