This seems to be one of the biggest maxims of the caste system. Notice how "you can't coach strength" or "you can't coach intelligence" are almost never used to any comparable degree. All 3 are false to one degree or another, but the speed one is used because, for one reason, or another, blacks are naturally faster for the most part. (or so it seems)

Of course they fall short in many other athletic categories, but being a political system, and not a scientific or athletic one, the caste system ignores these facts to push its interests. Speed is glamorized in all sports. Strength and intelligence sports -- such as weighlifting, or chess -- are seen as boring or nerdy, while speedier sports are ever popular with the short-attention-span and gullible masses. Even traditionally "strength" sports, like professional wrestling, have forces pushing them towards a speedier and more "athletic" (afletic) model. (Not coincidentally, whites are slowly losing ground in that theatrical sport.)

The fact is, all 3 of these attributes can be improved with training and coaching. There are limits, but all *can* be taught or learned. There are numerous instances of athletes improving their sprint times. Even humans in general have gotten faster times in the past century. In spite of numerous instances of speed being taught, the falsehood prevails in some false "axiom".

The fact is, speed is based in muscle fibers, cognitive, and motor system factors. All these systems can be stimulated and tweaked to increase one's speed. Anyone who says it's uncoachable is promoting a lie. Edited by: FieldThrower

Excellent post. Virtually allof Caste System mythologyhas been built ona slight black advantage on average in straight line speed over short distances. And there's no question speed can be increased through improving one's training and technique.Helping kids to increase their speed is what Don Beebe does for a living post-NFL.

When I was a kid(before the Caste system) football coaches had a saying, "I can make you faster, I can make you stronger, but I can't make you taller."

This seems like a much more honest assessment of a coaches limitations.

When I played high school football in the early to mid 90s, the coaches said you can't coach size way more than you can't coach speed. I do remember hearing the phrase speed kills though.
