Ausin Collie is forgoing his senior season, and turning pro best of luck to him at the next level. I hope that he is a high draft pick and ends up dominating at the next level. I only hope that the advice he got form his advisers dosen't back fire on him. I only say this because rarely does a white skill player dare leave college early. Also James Casey the do everything tight end H-back/running back is turning pro as well. I wish them both the best at the next level.Edited by: White Power

Collie made a bad move. With Maclin and Crabtree coming out this year he will be overshadowed. Would have been better to wait another year.

I am conflicted about this move by Austin. It seems like he could gain a little morefame by playing next year, but he could also be just as ignored as he was this year. I wish Austin the best in his NFL quest, but I won't hold my breath on him getting a fair shot.

Age is a huge factor here for both Casey and Collie, them being 25 and 24 respectivly, being a year older when they are already 22+ is not a good thing in the eyes of scouts. They made the right move, they had unique seasons, even though they never got the recognition they deserved. Casey should have won the mackey award but he was ineligible because he played more than TE, just like Garrett Mills some years ago, what a dumb rule.

Collie has been soooooo patient. Two years on an LDS mission three season at BYU has got to thave this kid to try his talents in the NFL. I cannot blame him for making this move. It is a make or break move, hopefully he will at least get the Jordy Nelson treatment in his first year. Though i doubt it, I will keep an eye out fo rthis kid and pray for the best.

the biggest factor in Collie's case is simply that he is white. we all know how NFL general managers/scouts/whatever view white kids. the fact that only 2 white receivers were drafted last year should tell you something. or the fact that despite leading the nation in catches and receiving yards and setting a Division I record for most consecutive 100-yard games, Collie wasn't even a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award should.

it doesn't matter how much a white skill position player does or has, the NFL folks will always say it's not enough. just look at Tebow. or Hester and Hillis and Woodhead last year. or any of the hundreds of white players we talk about here. and while Collie destroys the competition on a weekly basis but is told he should return for another season and work on his game, under-performing negroes who apparently have "talent" are hailed as future superstars and the ESPN negrophiles slobber praise all over them.

fact is, Collie is physically equal or superior to most or all of the black wide receivers who will be in the draft. as a football player he is without a question better than they are, as shown by performance on the field. the only question is, will the NFL actually give him (and the numerous other talented white wideouts who will be draft eligible) a fair shot.

Seems to be an uptick in white receivers getting playing time in the NFL what with so many black guys that cannot produce (catch!). I'm hoping Collie gets drafted by someone with needs who will eventually turn to him. I still don't understand what happened in Chicago with Hass and their miserable receiving corps.

I am predicting that Collie has been told that he will be a 3rd or 4th round pick, and could go higher based on his workouts. This is just my hunch because why else would he come out unless he has been giving favorable advice from his talent evaluators. Now I don't know if the advice he was given is prudent. However , having said that the fact that Wes Welker is tearing it up in the Pro's can't hurt his chances at the next level. I know their different receivers, but in the eyes of the uninformed their both still white, hence essentially the same player. As for james Casey i think he will be a Chris Cooley type player and could be one of the top tight ends taken in the draft. His only draw back would be his age other than that Casey is a baller who can stretch the field as a tight end. I watced him play in their bowl game, and I thought he was the best player on the field for the Rice Owls.

The age factor is big, plus it buttressesthe point about whites not maturing physically as fast as blacks. Would Collie have been the great college receiver he isif he hadn't taken two years off for his mission? I remember him being damn good even as a freshman, but without the mission he may not have been good enough to have any chance of being drafted. BYU produces lots of great athletes but they're usually older than their counterparts around the rest of the country (except for other Mormon athletes).


Scouts Inc. (very anti-white) hasCollie projected as a third rounder. They say he runs "good" routes and has "good" hands. I'd say better than "good" but that's mad props for that crew of clowns.

you know what will happen, they will say he doesn't have the same "upside" as other WR whaterver that means for a receiver... a guy who gets 500 yards on a season may have the upside to do more, and a 1,500 guy doesn't, its normal, but why should his draft stock be any lower because of this? the guy gets 1,500 yards on 13 games, I guess he'll never get 2000 yards on a season, if thats what upside means. But I'd be satisfied with 1,500...

Well now that Collie is leaving early I hope Brian Hartline decides to stay in school. We cannot have too many white WRs declaring early. There's only a certain amount thats allowed to be drafted in a single year. lol

BTW...Hartline is getting married in May so that may play a role in him thinking about leaving early so he can buy a house, go on a honeymoon, and all that other marriage stuff. Also having Pryor "throwing" him the ball isn't too appealing either.

"Throwing" is the perfect word for the situation. Pryor makes Tarvaris Jackson look like Sonny Jurgensen in the pocket. He is the classic jack of all trades master of none. Seems more like wishbone qb than a Ohio State qb.

Yes. And unfortunately Ohio State fans thank that Pryor is the only thing the Bucks have going for them. This is simply pathetic thinking when you consider that in the last two games, Pryor was 10 of 27 passing, and rushed for a total of 71 yards in both games. He was clearly overrated as a high school recruit. I think the best thing to do would be to move Pryor to tight-end because he is athletic and can catch the ball and gain a few yards, and for OSU to recruit an athletic passer like McCoy to play QB.

I feel bad for Jake Stoneburner and Jake Ballard.

Tressel was irresponsible and reckless for not redshirting Pryor. He clearly needed a redshirt year to improve. The good news is that Pryor will be gone faster, but I can't think of Tressel as some genius anymore.

Lucky for him, the Big 10 will likely be weak again next year.

Oh and they'll NEVER bring up though how Hartline's yards per reception went up from 13.3 to 22.8. They'll ignore the awesome 23 yards per catch and label him a possession guy who lacks the speed to go deep.
