White Runningbacks Lead The Way

Great info guys...it's so transparent as to why these talented players are not getting any sort of looks from D-1 schools. It is enraging and pathetic, at some point these players will hopefully start speaking out as to the real reason they are not getting any offers from division 1 schools.

Jordan Roberts, Wyoming's leading rusher, two-time Casper Star-Tribune Super 25 selection, 2011 Offensive Player of the Year, and 2011 Wyoming Gatorade Player of the Year, compiled 2,688 rushing yards (and 2,938 total yards from scrimmage) and 38 touchdowns on 308 carries in helping lead the Broncs to an 11-1 record and the school’s second Class 4A state title in three years.

as of today, Roberts (5-11, 193-pounds) has not received a single Division 1 scholarship offer. not even from in-state University of Wyoming ... which has signed or received commitments from three running backs for their 2012 recruiting class. i've not yet confirmed this, but i suspect all three of these players have a commonality in appearance that Jordan lacks.

Roberts is known for picking up yards after contact and his vision, but he may still be looking for a place to play football if he's not offered a Division 1 scholly by the February 1st deadline.

i don't know if he led the entire state in rushing, but as a senior in 2011, Brady May was the top running back in the state of Idaho, finishing the season with 29 touchdowns, approximately 1,700 rushing yards, and 0 fumbles.

the senior ran for 1,476 and 25 touchdowns in 8 games before seriously injuring his ankle early in game number 9. was only able to play limited snaps in games 9 and 10 of the season but still rushed for two more touchdowns in each game, including the only two scores of their opening round playoff win.

May led his team to a 9-1 record on the year, with their only loss coming in the second round of the playoffs where he was unable to continue playing after scoring two touchdowns and helping his team to a 13-0 lead.



as a junior in 2010, Brady May of Minico High (in Idaho) ran for 1,276 yards and 17 touchdowns.

after his dominant season, May won all the usual awards ... but one thing is noticeably lacking. to my knowledge, May has not received a single scholarship offer. from anyone.

i've not seen a complete list of the state, but so far it looks like Dayton Winn of Pea Ridge High School is the leading rusher in the state of Arkansas.

Winn ran for 2,184 yards (while averaging 9.06 yards-per-carry) and 21 touchdowns on the year. it probably goes without saying, but he isn't being recruited by anyone as far as i know.

I'm sure others who are coaches can attest to this. As an aside...Watching the Georgia-Nebraska game. Rex Burkhead clearly shows that white people can play skilled positions too. College football and the NFL is just another example of the caste system against whites. I once had an BCS conference assistant coach tell me once. "It's hard for us to recruit white skilled athletes. Because if we lose with them everyone thinks we lost because we recruited white kids. At least if we recruit black players at the skill positions and lose, they cant use that against us."

Hello colecleburn. There is a double standard when it comes to race in this country that trancsends sports itself. Otherwise, Burkhead should have a very productive career for some NFL team barring injury and unfortunately Burkhead has been slightly injury-prone through his collegiate career. I have a strange premonition he will be taken in the third round by the Colts. I would love to see Austin Collie come back and have Luck handing off to Rex next year. The Colts have no real work hosre tailback at the moment.
