Matt Remillard 21-0(12) will defend his NABF Featherweight title on May 22. His opponent is TBA.

Mark Tucker Inks Promotional Contract With Lou Dibella

"I don't know how you got the scoop, but I'm very proud of signing Mark Tucker. I first saw him when he was 17-years-old and immediately knew he was a talented fighter. He can fight in one of the hottest divisions in boxing [168]. The kid has a bright future," DiBella told BoxingScene.com.

We need to get a white American champion now that Pavlik has lost his belts. Hopefully Kelly takes a rematch with Martinez and wins. He's going to need a new trainer to succeed in that fight.

This is a busy weekend for white American fighters. We've got Donovan George and Kevin Engel on showtime tonight and Karpency is going to be fighting in Germany on Saturday.

Good luck to those three men. Engel and to a lesser extent Karpency are the "opponents" in their respective matchups, let's hope they can turn expectation on it's head and get the upset win.

Minto's first fight at cruiserweight, and for the championship!  This should be interesting.

Unbeaten Chicago super middleweight favorite Donovan "Da Bomb"Â￾ George (20-0, 17 KOs) scored an eight round unanimous decision over Osumanu Adama (17-2, 13 KOs). George dropped Adama in round seven en route to a 79-72, 76-75, 77-74 win.

He's still a little rough around the edges but hopefully he'll continue to improve

Best of luck to Brian but guys who go down in weight rarely pan out.

I think you're right. Guys who move up seem to do better.

Manfredo ended a good action fight with a series of clean shots that prompted referee Steve Smoger to wave it off at 1:19 of round ten.

Calloway (the name makes me think of the movie, "The Third Man") posts on the BoxRec forum.

I added two more fighters to the list.

From Fightnews

In his pro debut, highly regarded Top Rank light heavyweight Mike Lee (1-0) won a four round unanimous decision over Emmitt Woods (0-4-1, 0 KOs) on Saturday night at the UIC Pavillion in Chicago. Scores were 40-36 on all cards. The 22-year-old Lee, a three-time Notre Dame boxing champion, was unbeaten as a fighter at Notre Dame and following that was a gold medalist in the 2009 Chicago Golden Gloves. He has already received substantial national press before his debut.

Rob needs to retire. I knew he was going to get knocked out early by Briggs. For all his faults, Briggs can still punch and Calloway has taken a lot of punishment in recent years fighting top European Cruiserweights.

Queens' product Will Rosinsky (11-0, 7 KOs) forced Angel David Gonzalez's (6-8-1, 3 KOs) corner to mercifully stop a scheduled six round light heavyweight contest after three completed rounds. Rosinsky continuously snapped Gonzalez's head back with stiff jabs and was able to avoid most of his opponent's shots while countering with picture perfect left hooks to the body, heavy straight rights and stinging right uppercuts to the head.

WBA rated #6 super middleweight Joey "The KO Kid"Â￾ Spina (26-1-2, 18 KOs) defeated Antwun Echols (32-15-4, 28 KOs) in the main event on Saturday night at the Fox Theatre inside of the Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, CT. Echols, who took the fight on 48 hours notice after the original opponent "Sucra"Â￾ Ray Oliveira did not clear his medicals, looked sharp early but was knocked down after a left hook from Spina landed just after the bell rang to end the second round. Spina continued to land punches and after several hard shots, the fight was stopped by referee Johnny Callas at 49 seconds of round three. The eight bout fight card was promoted by Jimmy Burchfield's Classic Entertainment and Sports.

Michael Finney signed with Golden Boy Promotions. He's a 18yr old Welterweight from Smith's Station, Alabama. Currently 5-0 with 5 knockouts. His amateur record was 119-29 and was ranked number one in the USA as a Junior Olympian in 2008.

Middleweight Peter Manfredo Jr moved to 36-6 with 20 KOs when Jhon Berrio (15-8, 11 KOs) remained on his stool after round six on Friday night at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, Rhode Island. "The Pride of Providence"Â￾ was in command the whole way. It is suspected that Berrio may have suffered broken ribs.

Light heavyweight Mike Lee (3-0, 2 KOs) blasted away Keith Debow (0-3-1) with a two-fisted barrage punctuated by and overhand right at 1:33 of the opening round. Lee is a former boxing champion at Notre Dame University.

Mike Wilson won a decision over Jae Bryce in Australia this morning. Mike was a sparring partner for Danny Green. With the win he improves to 5-0(3).

Litzau's win was much needed given the news about Pavlik. If Jason fights like this he will be our next champ. White American boxing is looking up for the first time in a a long time.

Mike Lee Returns
The highly publicized career of Notre Dame boxing champion Mike Lee (3-0, 2 KOs) continues February 26th at the Palms Casino and Resort in Las Vegas. The 23-year-old Lee will face Pablo Gomez (1-2-1, 1 KO) in a four round light heavyweight battle on an off-TV undercard bout of the SHOWTIME televised lightweight world championship clash between Miguel Acosta and Brandon Rios. Lee is currently preparing with legendary trainer Ronnie Shields in Houston, Texas.

Tucker Still Unbeaten
In the co-feature, unbeaten light heavyweight Mark Tucker (15-0, 7 KOs) won a good action six round unanimous decision over Ray Smith (9-5, 3 KOs). Scores were 59-55 on all cards.

Karpency returns on Saturday
WBA #11, WBC #12, WBO #14 light heavyweight Tommy Karpency (20-2-1, 13 KOs) returns to the ring this Saturday at the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He will face durable veteran Andre Hemphill (10-16-2, 5 KOs) of Philly in the eight round main event. Karpency looks to stay busy while the upset-minded Hemphill looks to build on his two fight winning streak.

Last Friday on Shobox, Nicholas Iannuzzi lost a controversial decision to Lateef Kayode. Iannuzzi, who had no amateur fights outboxed the Nigerian Olympian.

Tomorrow on Shobox, Don George 20-1-1(17) faces Cornelius White 16-0(15) in a ten rounder.

Michael Finney and Jeremiah Graziano both see action later this month.

Karpency crushes Hemphill

Professional boxing returned to the state capitol of Harrisburg PA on Saturday night for the first time in over eight years with an entertaining six bout card featuring some of the best up and coming prospects Pennsylvania has to offer. The highly competitive show promoted by Payton Promotions featured the cross state arrival of Adah, PA light heavyweight sensation Tommy Karpency (21-2, 14 KOs) who put on a one round beat down on late replacement Andre "Da Heat"Â￾ Hemphill (10-17-2, 5 KOs). York PA junior welterweight sensation "Stone Cold"Â￾ Stevie Weimer (6-0, 2 KOs) stepped up in class and was taken the distance and captured a hard fought six round split decision victory over tough Philly veteran Julius "Marvel"Â￾ Edmonds (7-10) in the co-feature of the evening.

Pittsburgh fan favorite, Tommy Karpency looked for what was to a career defining fight with Toledo Ohio's Dallas Vargas, but he had to pull out for undisclosed reasons, forcing Payton Promotions to hit the phones desperately looking for an opponent willing to take on the up and coming southpaw light heavyweight. In stepped Andre "Da Heat"Â￾ Hemphill, who was coming in on a two fight win streak and had tested some of the top prospects in the region, including Yathomas Riley, Mark Tucker and Anthony Ferrante.

Karpency knew this now turned into an even more dangerous fight as a loss to Hemphill could seriously damage his run for a world title shot. It was all business for Karpency from the opening bell as he carefully stalked Hemphill with a powerful right jab in the opening seconds. Hemphill tried to slow him down with a few shots to the body. Suddenly the fight changed in a flash as a Karpency left jab and straight right combination connected flush, up top and sent Hemphill to the canvas. Hemphill rose to his feet and went into survival mode. Karpency saw that he was covering up top and his rib were exposed, so he dug a perfectly place left hook under the ribcage. Hemphill spun around like a top, before going to a knee. It was clear that Hemphill had had enough as referee Gary Rosato reached the ten count at 2:12 mark of the opening round.

The jubilant Tommy Karpency who raised his record to an impressive 21-2, with 14KO's, spoke on the fight changes afterward. "We trained for a more straight ahead boxer in Dallas Vargas, and he was moving pretty good, but I knew if I put together some shots to the body I could finish him because he took the fight on short notice. You always want to go downstairs with guy on short notice."Â￾ said Karpency. "It was great crowd; especially since I am not from around here (Adah, PA is several hours away from Harrisburg). I am just glad everyone came out to watch the show and I am thankful for the fans that came out to see me and made the it a success."Â￾
