Nice article. I keep forgetting that Welker wasn't even drafted despite his record setting college career. But sports is the "ultimate meritocracy" right? What a joke.

Icsept, in Welker's case, its true that sports weren't the "ultimate meritocracy," but they were a meritocracy ultimately. It's more important that these athletes end up in places where they can play and it's most important that white athletes continuously develop.
Personally, I think Danny Farmer had more talent.
Once the recession really hits, the NFL and college football will be really reduced. Then the Caste System can fall!
