Probably should be Pulver's last fight if he loses again and Bowles is spectacular and I expect him to hold the belt for awile. It's nice to see it free on Versus still as the WEC keeps talking about trying to do PPV.

G301, in the Depression we're in...WEC & Zuffa had best think twice about a WEC PPV. Heck, I've only shelled out for UFC PPVs a few times (& Afflication once...to see Fedor). I'll meet some buddies at a sports bar to watch a UFC PPV every 2-3 months.

***I do like that the UFC is having a card/event on Versus later this month.

I don't like obnoxious Brandon Vera, but I hope he knocks off caste-hyped "afflete" Jon Jones. JDS vs. Gonzaga and Buentello vs. (caste-hyped) Kongo should be good fights. They say the winner of the JDS/Napao fight will possibly face Velasquez....& the winner of that fight will then face the winner of Mir/Carwin vs. Lesnar.

Yes it is real nice to get another free UFC fight night on Versus that has a decent card suitable for a low grade PPV. I hope it does well because If I go more than a couple of weeks without seeing a live MMA fight I start missing it and I am like you in mostly seeing my PPV's in a sports bar with some friends.

March is a great month for MMA fans with lots of caste match ups almost every weekend.

Cruz is about the whitest Mexican I have ever seen. He actually has the voice and mannerisms of a homosexual. Not saying this to be mean but saw him on HDNet's weekly MMA show and that is what struck me. Doesn't matter as he will lose to Bowles anyway.

Yeah, Dixie ... I also have no problem cheering for Vera and Beuntello against the over hyped Great Black Nopes.

Pulver has lost his last 3-4 fights by KO in the first minute of the first round. Then he cries - literaly - and tells the fans he is gettin' to old for this.

So, god bless the guy, but Jens needs to retire after this fight as I can guarantee he will get KO'd again in the first round by the Mexican. He is like Oleg Maskaev now.

LL, I agree...Jens was a great fighter indeed, but his prime has past. He needs to focus on coaching and commenting (he did so on a few WEC fights) unless he's thinks getting beat/still fighting is his best payday prospective.

Cruz looks to have a good bit of European blood. LOL on him talking like a sodomite. I've never heard him speak, but I can see him being a wanna-be "prettyboy" (for the dudes).

Here's to hoping Bowles knocks his mestizo @$$ into next week!

Here are your results for WEC 47 from Columbus, OH...

* Bantamweight bout: Jorgensen vs. Chad George

Jorgensen defeated George via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:31 of Round 1.

* Featherweight bout: Chad Mendes vs. Erik Koch

Mendes defeated Koch via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
smiley6.gif

* Lightweight bout: Danny Castillo vs. Anthony Pettis

Pettis defeated Castillo via KO (strikes) at 2:17 of Round 1.

* Featherweight bout: Leonard Garcia vs. George Roop

Garcia and Roop fought to a split draw.

The judges scored the bout 29-27 (Garcia) 29-27 (Roop) and 28-28. A point deduction was given to Roop for a shot to the groin of Garcia.

* Featherweight bout: Fredson Paixao vs. Courtney Buck

Paixao defeated Buck via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:39 of Round 1.

* Lightweight bout: Ricardo Lamas vs. Bendy Casimir

Lamas defeated Casimir via TKO (flying knee) at 3:43 of Round 1.

Main Card

* Lightweight bout: Bart Palaszewski vs. Karen Darabedyan
- Palaszewski by sub (arm bar) round 1.
smiley20.gif

* Featherweight bout: Deividas TauroseviÄÂÂ￾ius vs. LC Davis
- Taurosevicius totally ripped off, as "afrolete" Davis gets the (BS) decision. At worst, it should have been a draw.

* Featherweight bout: Jens Pulver vs. Javier Vazquez
- Pulver's walks out to Charlie Daniels' "Simple Man".
smiley2.gif
However, Jens doesn't have it (for this level) anymore & gets sub'd in round 1 (via arm bar).
smiley18.gif

* Bantamweight bout: Miguel Torres vs. Joseph Benavidez
- Benavidez by sub (guillotine choke) after cutting Torres open with a G&P elbow.

* Bantamweight Championship bout: Brian Bowles vs. Dominick Cruz
- Cruz wins by TKO (broken hand of Bowles).

Bowles broke his hand on the 1st punch of the fight & seemed a half-second too slow & Cruz was very active (constantly moving). Bowles should have taken it to the mat early. ***P.S.- Cruz's Mom came into cage after the fight & definitely looks European/White, so I guess Cruz's dad is mestizo.

***Not the best night for White fighters, BUT I expect Bowles to be back in the mix for the Bantamweight belt (once his hand heals). Also, I expect Faber to win the FW strap from Aldo & Cerrone to beat Henderson (the Cowboy got robbed in their 1st fight). These fights WILL be on PPV...WEC 48 on 4/24.

Dominick Cruz's game plan was just awesome to watch, he was like the fly buzzing around you that is too quick to swat down. Bowles breaking his right hand on the first punch of the fight effectively ended his chances of winning from the get go.Pulver was all class on his post-fight interview but he should be a coach now and retire from fighting before he really gets hurt. I'm usually not big on telling a athlete to retire but scared for Jen if he keeps trying, he appears overmatched.

Btw Scott Jorgenson is actually White, he only looks Brown because he suffers from a skin condition called vitiligo, which is why he tans his skin. That ought to ease some of the pain of the caste matchups, because he had an exteremly dominant victory and will likely be next in line to challenge Cruz for the title
