The Anderson Silva era should come to an end on Saturday. And the Weidman era will begin!

What is Mike Pierce doing fighting on Facebook? He is easily a top 10 guy at 170. His only losses were questionable split decisions to Koscheck and Hendricks.

I like Weidman, and I think he will be champ in a few more years, but he has only been doing mma for about four years, compare that to Anderson Silva, who has been doing MMA for about fifteen years. Weidman just hasn't developed the striking to keep Anderson in check, and he is not going to be able to keep moving on his bicycle to avoid his timed kicks.
On the other hand I do think Anderson is very beatable, he gets taken down and loses rounds all the time. I just don't think Weidman at this stage in his career should be given a title shot.

Silva is overrated. The only time he beat a current top 10 P4P fighter was his first win over Franklin. He did beat Hendo in 2008 but Dan was coming off a loss and was always better at 205 than 185.

Lutter, Hendo and Sonnen all had his number but he survived. I see his luck running out tonight against a stronger fighter who will pressure him and take him down at will. In fact, I see Weidman stopping or tapping Silva.

I do wish he did not have such a long layoff but that is MMA.

As much I want Weidman, not just to win, but to embarrass Silva, I dont see this happening. Weidman is talented, but he should of fought another contender Like Bisping or Belfort, then get the title shot. He is not experienced enough. The reason Sonnen gave Silva a tough time was Sonnen has the talent, but also had the experiecne. Weidman is much more talented than Sonnen, but he does not have the experience. I hate to say it, but Silva will Win. He will catch Chris when he is not looking, under 3 rounds.

I think Silva is a great fighter,he controls the range well and is accurate with his strikes.Weidman has good wrestling dos'nt he?Hopefully he uses this rather than trying to strike with Silva.

I hate it when white fighters come into the ring to hip-hop music.

Nevertheless, Mike Pierce is gonna slam Mitchell. He is top 10 at 170 so what the f*&% is he doing on the Facebook prelims???

No Weidman will look to take him down (and he will) and work the ground-and-pound and submissions. Having said that, Weidman's standup is not bad.

Pierce with the KO. His only losses were questionable SD's against Hendricks and Koscheck and a legit (and boring) decision loss to Fitch (when Fitch was in his prime).

I hope Herman doesn't get paid after he threw that fight. Herman is a pothead loser, who does even train.

Yeah, 4th straight stoppage loss for Herman. He needs to go to the regional circuit as he is not at the UFC level.

Herman should retire, he hasn't trained in almost three years now. He doesn't take this sport seriously and he is going to end up getting hurt. Apparently he got a job in Tennessee and they don't have any facilities to train in that's why he quit training.

Norman Parke yet another young white prospect at 155. Nice win over the Japanese fighter.

Andrew Craig only 27 and another white contender at 185.

Hope Leben doesn't get cut as he is still useful and hits very hard.

I didn't realize they had Andrew Craig listed as the underdog. If that was the case I would have bet a ton of money on him. Craig has great boxing and cardio, and pretty good wrestling. His submission game needs work, but he reminds me a little of Court McGee.

Credit where credit is due, but i'm not excited about him nor do I like his style. He backed off the whole fight like a Mayweather/Rigondeaux, it's a cowardly style, he was also lucky to win. I love seeing fighters walking forward and standing toe to toe. I don't let black fighters off for it, I won't make excuses for white fighters.

On the main card I like Edgar, Boetch, and Siver. Kennedy might struggle against Gracie. Because his striking isn't great.

I didn't like Siver's chances. He started at 170 and the cut to 145 killed him tonight.

Swanson is very beatable and I hope he meets Frankie next fight.

Most are picking Munoz. But he looked awful his last fight.

Boetsch was on a roll and looked good against Phillipou before his injury during that fight.

Both are grinders and it could well go a boring 3 rounds but we'll see.

Nice win for Kennedy. Mostly impressed by his defensive BJJ against maybe the best BJJ guy in the world. Kennedy is a tough out for anyone but not likely to ever be champ.

Gracie is too big to be making 185. He gassed just like Siver did due to the extreme weight cut.
