Tyson Fury maintains he has retired from boxing as WBC seeks talks on his future plans

There are clues IMO on why Fury isn't retiring. One he is total ham who loves the limelight, two his contract is up and the easiest way to renegotiate a contract is to say if I don't get X I'm gone and when you have the hammer and promoters run over the numbers you can negotiate a shocking deal in your favor. Mayweather did this twice to get a new deal with Showtime and to get the super fight with Pacman and then McGregor.

He also isn't enjoying a retirement if he just had a fight two weeks ago, that's a rest which is quite common for elite boxers to take months off after a grueling training camp.

As for the exhibition fight the UFC will only sign off on this fight if the money is too big to pass up. As we saw during the first public talk of the fight a statue might have more to say than the UFC champion and Fury will have to carry this promotion as Ngonno has the personality of a lamp post. It's hard to sell a huge PPV on a mismatch if the public doesn't get conned by the underdog to think it isn't.

PS this video is similar to my view on Fury's "retirement"...
