Did y'all notice that Rampage and his coaches went out to eat when Demico was in the room getting ready for the fight? Greg Jackson is over there working the mits wit Schaub, getting him prepped and pumped up, while in Rampage's room.... crickets. Then leaving his guy out there in the cage, not even wanting to offer him a stool?? Pure class, that Rampage guy. He'll fit right in at Hollywood.

Rampage is a grade A jack@$$ & his lackey Tiki "Blowshn" is a nutt rider.

Greg Jackson probably has the best camp in MMA right now...with a roster that includes GSP, Nate "the Great" Marquardt, Rashad, Jardine & Carlos Condit. ***Jackson actually trained the late "The Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin for several years and the 2 became good friends. Jackson attended Irwin's funeral in Australia.

Hawkeye...again, good call on Wren! He easily sub'd the 6'10 MMA vet Wes Sims via arm triangle in round 1 (putting Wes to sleep). Sims needs to focus more on improving his skills & less on trying to be a wisenheimer/comedian.

Episode 5: Rude Awakening
- During practice, Matt Mitrione complains of a sore shoulder but is wanting to fight in the next fight. Rashad Evans, in discussion with his assistant coaches, worry about putting Mitrione in the fight and continuing their undefeated streak. Some of the Team Rampage guys think Mitrione is sandbagging.
- Zak Jensen also becomes an outcast in the house after supposedly jerkin' the gerkin in the communal bathroom and passing out during practice. "Comedian" Wes Sims makes a big scene...trying to punk out Jensen.
- Rashad Evans announces the next match up: Justin Wren vs. Wes Sims
- Justin Wren defeats Wes Sims in the first round by technical submission due to an arm triangle.
- Rashad confronts Team Rampage about leaving his fighters in the cage alone. Rampage wants to hear nothing from Rashad & the TNB smack talk commences.

***"Big Baby" PEDcus YOnes is about as dumb as Rampage. He was belly-achin' to Rashad & Mike Van Arsdale about wanting to fight & Rashad says "we never said we didn't pick you"....PEDcus automatically starts celebrating & saying "I'm finally gonna to fight", etc. After hearing he wasn't picked, PEDcus gives eat-$Hit looks to Rashad & says "you gave me your word"....when all Rashsd said was "we never said we didn't pick you".YOnes is either half-deaf or a big dummy (like his coach).

Rampage's team will be lucky to win one of the next three fights. Scott Junk might have a chance of beating Mike Wessel, howeverWessel was the former strenght and conditioning coach at Arkansas when Houston Nutt was there, and from what I hear he was a powerhouse. The other guy who has great power that seems to be getting trashed is Matt Mittrione. Mittrione from what I've been told was the strongest guy is the house. So Marcus Jones could be in trouble.

Hawkeye, good assessment partner. I believe Rashad said Matt M. was "very, very athletic". Matt played football at Purdue, and LB for Giants & Vikings, but didn't get many reps. I hope he tears through that infantile idiot "PEDcus YOnes"!

Here's the overview from TUF (Season 10) episode 6 - "16 Sharks"...

* Phil Nurse, stand up coach for Georges St-Pierre and Rashad Evans, comes to help at Team Rashad's training practice.
* Rashad Evans announces the next match up: Darrill Schoonover vs. Zak Jensen
* Quinton Jackson keeps calling Schoonover "Titties." During the fight announcement, Schoonover starts cursing at Jackson leading to a verbal confrontation between the two.
* Team Rampage give Zak the nickname Linderman and Wes Sims starts a poll of when Zak will have a break down.
* During a training session, Jensen gets a large cut over his eye. It gets stitched up but there is some concern whether he can fight or wants to fight.
* Tiki Ghosn hires an artist to draw a picture of Team Rashad. They hang it in the training center, but Rashad takes it down before anyone on his team can see. Team Rampage later present it to Team Rashad gift wrapped.
* Darrill Schoonover defeats Zak Jensen in the first round by submission with a triangle choke

***The more I see of that arrogant, (barely) functional retard Rampage, the less I can stand of him. I really hope Rashad KTFO's that idiot in the 1st round (if they fight). It must have been reeeeally difficult for Schoonover not to jack that bufoon's jaw. Rampage & his "team" are the worst in TUF history.

Rampage has lost it and is a embarrassment to the sport of MMA. The constant disrespect he showed Schooner last night was beyond the pale and he obviously(except for Kimbo) could care less for any of his teams fighters unless they win which they have not so far. Rashad may very well go 8-0 with his team. Rampage is one of those guys who can never be reasoned with or have a logical discussion with(everything is a joke) and so I can see why Dana and him are on the outs at the moment. Wes Sims is coming off like a moron as well.

I'm wondering what will happen this time if Rashad actually sweeps. In the past, when the teams were uneven, some of the fighters on the winning team would have to switch camps and train with the other coach. That could be disastrous, given the environment on this show. Can you imagine four of Rashad's guys having to go train under Rampage now? And how would they decide who goes?

Yikes.

Looks like at least 7 of the 8 finalists in TUF will be white. Marcus Jones is the last black hope left and he is fighting a much smaller white guy (Wessel). My money is on us going 8 for 8 as Jones is a big oaf with no athleticism or movement.

Here's the TUF (S10) re-cap from tonight's episode 7, "Voices In My Head"...

* Rashad Evans announces the final two preliminary fights: Matt Mitrione vs. Scott Junk and Mike Wessel vs. PEDcus Yones.
* Rashad and Rampage continue their war of words with Rashad claiming that Rampage quit on his fighters, not the other way around. Typical TNB smack-talk.
* Wes Sims and James McSweeney create a bet as to when Matt Mitrione will break down or snap, much like the previous weeks' bet about Zak Jensen
* Matt Mitrione defeats Scott Junk by majority decision after two rounds. Both fighters gassed 2 minutes into round 1.
* Following the match, Quinton Jackson walks away from the cage and rips apart a door leading to the locker room area.

***Mitrione has a good reach (81") and stiff jabs with a good chin. If the guy gets his cardio up to par & work his BJJ/wrestling alot more, he'll have a shot at doing pretty well in MMA.

Let's hope Wessell can defeat "afflete" Big Baby PEDcus YOnes. PEDcus is lumbering with poor cardio & not the brightest bulb on the tree.

So 7 out of 8 left are white with one black (Marcus Jones). Though Mitrione may be injured and replaced with Kimbo Hype.

Jones looks to have solid BJJ. His size & BJJ was too much. However, I've read on Sherdog (from fans who've seen his fights) he doesn't like getting punched & has weak cardio. If someone can force him to stand, they might be able to KO "PEDcus YOnes".

Here's the overview of UTC TUF Episode 8: One Soldier Left...

* Brendan Schaub draws an insulting caricature of Marcus Jones. Mike Wessel later adds "sucks balls" to the bottom of the picture which angers Jones.
* Darrill Schoonover again squares up to Rampage over his repeated "titties" jibes.
* Marcus Jones defeats Mike Wessel by submission (armbar) in the first round.
* Dana White and the two coaches meet with each quarter finalist to find out who their preferred opponent in the next round would be.
* The quarter final fights are announced as:
o Roy Nelson vs. Justin Wren
o Brendan Schaub vs. Jon Madsen
o James McSweeney vs. Matt Mitrione
o Marcus Jones vs. Darrill Schoonover
* Rashad offers Team Rampage members the chance to train with him and later, Rashad and Rampage clash once more.

****I'm pulling for Nelson, Schaub, Mitrione (if he fights) & Schoonover to advance. Bimbo will probably drop McSweeney (IF he fights). It'd be so awesome to see Darrill KO Rampage's fighter "Big Baby".

It's obvious muscle bound Jones(same as Wes Shivers) has weak cardio. Someone has to just take him to a second round and he will get gassed and either get knocked out or easily submitted, that being said, I was impressed with that quick submission he pulled out of his ass against Wessel.

I like Marcus Jones. He seems like a really decent guy, and seems very open and honest about his fears. Takes a lot to admit you like flowers in the TUF house, lol. I like Tiddies too, he took a lot of unnecessary razzing from Rampage. I doubt either one will be in the Finals though anyway.

After having watched the first round of fights, I think there are several of the guys in the house who would have lost to Kimbo. I think he can beat McSweeney if he takes Mitrione's place.

I don't understand that Dana hate for Big Country. He even says he doesn't know why but the guy just rubs him the wrong way. I think it's because he knows Kimbo will not win and can't win the Finals as long as Big Country is on the show.

Dana would never admit it, but he doesn't like Roy because ol' Big Country derailed Dana's TUF 10 "gravy train" early in the show. For as much (legit) trashing he'd done of "Bimbo Lice", he's now trying to juice the mug as much as possible. Lice is slated to fight at the TUF Finale & is said to already have a contract (pre-TUF). Bimbo could probably KO 2-3 of those guys, but those same guys aren't UFC caliber (IMO).

Dana's an outstanding marketing genius (of UFC/MMA), but he's also an arrogant, foul-mouth hypocrite. I appreciate what he's done for MMA, but don't like his personality, etc.

Here's a breakdown of tonight's TUF 10 1st semi-final match-up between Roy "Big Country" Nelson & Justin Wren. Both are solid on the mat (with BJJ, etc.). I give the edge to Roy on the stand-up & experience. Here's Spike's breakdown...

Roy Nelson vs. Justin Wren Breakdown

Team Rashad spent most of the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter treating its opponents like training dummies. As they won more fights, their confidence and comradery grew. Ironically, they also grew closer to inevitable happening that they'd have to fight themselves once the lovable misfits from Team Rampage got wiped out. The first intra-squad matchup happens tonight so let's take a look at Roy Nelson vs. Justin Wren.

Nelson walked into the house this season as the runaway favorite to win the whole show while Wren was relatively inexperienced and unknown, but in the first round of fights it was Wren who was able to finish in convincing fashion. Nelson's win was hardly impressive and Kimbo Slice had him in trouble a few times during the stand-up exchanges, but he did exactly what he wanted and got the "W."Â￾

Wren, who fought Wes Sims, did a nice job of controlling his opponent on the fence and avoiding Sims' clinch work. He scored a takedown relatively easily and Sims put up almost no fight against the mount or the arm triangle that finished the fight. But Wren will have a much tougher challenge with Nelson.

It's unlikely that he'll be able to control Nelson on the feet the way he did with Sims and there's absolutely no way he can pass guard and sink in a submission as effortlessly. Nelson's grappling is world-class. We only got to see Justin's ground game for a few seconds but it's probably safe to assume Nelson would have the edge on the mat. On the feet however, Wren might gave a chance. Again, we didn't get to see much of his game, but he seemed to have some power and he definitely displayed good movement. We know that Nelson's gameplan is going to be avoiding damage, so if Wren shows some aggression and attacks Nelson he might be able to expose an unwillingness to engage. If Nelson focuses too much energy on avoiding Wren's assault, his own offense might suffer. In other words, he'll be so worried about not getting hit that he'll forget to thrown any punches (sort of). He'll have to be careful not to walk into the heavy hands of Nelson, but if he can get past the jab and find a hole he could land some clean blows.

He might be able to knock out the former IFL champ but at the very least it'll help him earn points with the judges.

Here's the results from tonight's episode of UFC TUF...

Episode 9: Rattled

* Matt Mitrione complains of severe headaches and nausea as a result of his match with Scott Junk. There is the thought that he may have a concussion and may not be able to continue in the tournament. He is sent to the hospital to get a medical evaluation.
* As a practical joke, Quinton Jackson and his assistant coaches put chickens in the cars of the coaches of Team Rashad.
* Dana White visits the house and talks with Matt Mitrione. White has Mitrione claim that if the doctor clears him to fight, Mitrione will fight in his quarterfinal match.
* Roy Nelson defeats Justin Wren by majority decision after two rounds.

***This fight should have gone to a 3rd round as the 1st went to Wren (who gassed in the 2nd), and the 2nd to Roy. Roy needs to be a tad more aggressive next fight.

I have to admit that the chickens in the car prank had me laughing hard and Rashad took that prank pretty well with the chickens crapping all over his rental car. Rampage can't seem to win anything on this show or even rattle Rashad when he pranks him, there might as well be a big capital L(loser) attached to his forehead until Rashad knocks him out in the Octagon sometime this winter with a leg kick to the head. That's a prediction by the way.

Here's the overview from last night's episode of UFC TUF...

Episode 10: Gut Check

* Matt Mitrione says that the doctor who examined him says he had swelling of the brain as a result of his fight against Scott Junk. There is discussion among Team Rashad coaches as well as other fighters about whether Mitrione will be able to continue in the tournament.
* Kimbo Slice is having issues with his knee. He has an MRI done and an examination by a doctor. Slice is missing cartilage in his knee and may need an operation.
* The coaches challenge is 2 vs 2 beach volleyball. Team Rashad defeats Team Rampage earning Rashad Evans $10,000 and the Team Rashad fighers $1,500 each.
* Rashad Evans talks with Matt Mitrione and ask Mitrione if he wants to fight. Mitrione is unable to give him a straight answer. Evans calls Dana White about the situation.
* Dana White talks with all of the fighters in the training center. He tells them that fighters get hurt and fighters fight hurt, but none of them are being forced to fight. He tells Mitrione that they won't know if he is medically cleared to fight until the next day; if Mitrione is medically cleared he needs to decide whether he wants to fight.
* Brendan Schaub defeats Jon Madsen by knock out in the second round.

***Matt M needs to stop candy@$$in' around & fight that bigmouth McSweeney.

Schaub strikes again! I was worried for a while b\c Madsen was throwing him a round like a rag doll. Schaub came out in the second round and denied Madsens take downs and kept the fight standing, and the rest is history. Mitrione the guy is an attention who*e

Mitrione is a bit of a drama-queen/oddball, but has fairly heavy hands & a good chin. I see potential in the guy & will pull for him against McSweeney (who looks mixed?). McSweeney also strikes me as a loudmouth who rides Rashad's jock a little. He's also buttered up to "Bimbo Lice" a few times. BTW, ol' big, bad Bimbo didn't care for the ice bath none too much!
smiley2.gif

Madsen needs to improve his cardio & stand-up. He's holding 240+ & quite frankly could fight at LHW. He's in Matt Hughes "HIT Squad" in IL, so he's in a solid camp. I like Schaub or Nelson for the contract.

Dixie,

That's an interesting question regarding McSweeney's ancestry. I've wondered about that myself.

I think he's either mixed or addicted to the tanning bed. With all those tats, he does give off a "mud" vibe... Look at all the 1/4 black affletes that are full of tats!

Well he's certainly not Aryan. He might have some Greek or Sicilian blood, or could be a mud. I just don't like him. I'd pull for him against "Bimbo", but ol' Lice might KO him. Hopefully, Matt M. will take his skirt off & fight. I'm hoping Schoonover can man & up KO "PEDcus YOnes" next week. I've read on some Sherdog posts (from those who've seen PEDcus' fights) that "Big Baby" doesn't like taking punches. If someone with heavy hands & good take-down defense gets ahold of him...I think he's toast. I'm pulling for Big Country to win it all!
